My FI and I are making a domation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  We have both done a lot of fundraising for them when we were in college, so it seemed appropriate.  If you go to their website and make a donation, they will send you little cards to put at each place setting.

We are each picking a charity to make a donation to. My choice is Autism Speaks and his is an animal shelter. We're going to have place cards that say something to the effect of "In honor of your presence a donation has been made to Autism Speaks".  It's important to us and we decided we'd rather make a donation as opposed to spending 900-1000$ on something half of our guests would probably leave or never use.

There is a website (idofoundation.org) that you can use to make the donation and they will send a basic place card to you for free.

Before we decided on donations, we were thinking drink koozies.

I ordered penguin cookie cutters. I love penguins and I found a website where I could buy bulk. They are super adorable. One of my friends and I are also gonna make sugar cookies to go with them.

Karialex, I love the tea!  FI and I both drink lots of tea.  The favors are a bit expensive for my budget, but maybe I can do something else similar.

Otherwise, we're planning to do CDs of all of our ceremony and significant reception music (first dance, etc.).  We're not too sure yet though, we have plenty of time to figure it out!!

I have ivory linen boxes that will be tied up with green and black ribbon and will have my favorite chocolate inside, a Lindor truffle.  Pretty simple, wasn't expensive, really, and very elegant.

I LOVE the skittles and m and m's thing!  That's BRILLIANT!

    Homemade trail mix-

    M&M's
    Raisins
    Peanuts
    White chocolate chips
    Butterscotch chips
    chow mein noodles

It's so yummy.  Cellophane bag it with a ribbon and call it a day.....of course we have to make 400 servings of it so that will be a pain but its so easy to put together and cheaper than buying it.

We're doing photo favors. We have a separate photographer there just to take pictures of everyone and provide them a framed 5X7 picture at the end of the night.

We're making CDs - one for every household/invitation.  We both love music, and I might record one for it... haven't decided quite yet on that one though.

We're also doing something small for each place setting - like a candle or some chocolates.  Still working out the details for that one too!

My mother passed away from cancer before FI even met.  We are using the "In Favor of a Cure" pink ribbon boxes.  We are filling them with milk and dark chocolate hershey kisses (wedding colors are silver and purple).
We have gone back and forth on getting the stickers for the bottom of the kisses.  We still have time to decide.

You all are so creative...I think we are renting a photo booth & having the picture paper say our name & date...it's our 'splurge' and I figure people would want pics of themselves more than us   :)

I am doing ceramic tile magnets, with our names, the date and little wedding bands on them. I am going to place them in satin bags in our wedding colors pink and black, and place thank you tags on the outside. Everybody loves a magnet!!

We are thinking of using escort card holders that are in the shape of leaves in fall colors for one of our favors.  Then I was thinking of making Russian Tea and putting them in small jars with labels on them that have our names and the date and tying them with a plum colored ribbon.  Since our main color is plum and we are using the oranges and yellow of the fall season, I thought that Russian Tea would represent the warm colors and tying it with a purple ribbon would work.

My fiance and I are teaching in the north part of China now and will be back in the US one month before our wedding.  I thought about buying favors and/or silk linens for the tables here.  We will be traveling to Beijing next month and will probably do some searching there.  Do you have any suggestions of where to look?  Thanks!

We are big outdoors people and are trying to make the wedding as eco friendly as possible.  I found little kits to grow daisies (my favorite flower) it includes the terra cotta pot, seeds and soil.  It came in a box made for weddings.  Our invitations also have seeds in them and can be planted:)

This was the favor my BMs used for my shower!  Only they did lavender instead of daisies.  Very cool.

I'm making buckeyes, there will be six per box / person. I've already had a trial run and they are very easy to make and the cost is incredibly low. I had a hard time finding a box to fit six buckeyes, so I ended up making my own out of heavy cardstock paper. It will cost me $10 to make 150 boxes and maybe around $50 - $60 for the buckeye ingredients.

I'm not sure if I want to bother with favors at all, but if I end up deciding I'm willing to spend money on them I think I would want to do beer mugs/glasses because we are getting married in a pub.

We are doing personalized Yankee Candle Votives with a quote on them.   We are also going to do personalized jones soda in Root Beer, Orange, and Strawberry Kiwi, this way they will match our fall theme and they will serve as both favors and our signature drink.

for favors i did a gift bag in our colors, filled with personalized chocolate bars, wine bottles, mints, and a card that read " a loving note can barely say,all we've felt this magic day, a loving note is sent to you for your thoughtfulness and warm wishes to" .for ceremony favor's i did bubbles when they first walked in and i placed a yellow scented wooden hand crafted rose on each chair, for the reception favors i had spoonful of kisses placed on each plate and we did a candy station.
incase anyone is wondering what spoonful of kisses are, they are plastic spoons with 2 kisses on them wrapped in tull bag's with a tag that says "a spoonful of kisses from the Mr & Mrs"

I don't know if you can count sparklers as a favor.
