Affordable Wedding Alternative

Hello Ladies,

I got engaged on December 9, 2011 and since then I have been looking around for prices at just about every South Florida location.  My budget is $5,000 so needless to say I had a very difficult time finding a location that would fit that budget.  I really wanted something small and I didn't care for a reception therefore I found a place in Sunny Isles, FL where I will hold my ceremony on a veranda overlooking the ocean.  My entire wedding ceremony will cost me $4,500 which includes: photography, dress, cake, location, decorations, hair and make-up, drinks for toast, officiant, room stay at the hotel, and a 3 day cruise for me an my fiancé.  We are having close family and friends go on the cruise as well (each pays their own) to continue celebrating.  I tell you this because in today's economy it may be difficult for one to dish out $10,000 or more to get married thus it is important to look at the alternatives.

Good Luck with your weddings!!!

Could you share the name of the place you found in Sunny Isles? I live in Sunny Isles and was thinking about a beach wedding but didn't want to deal with being on the actual beach (some of the older attendees might have problems getting around on the sand). This might be perfect for me.

What an amazing deal!  Yes, please share.  I've booked a lot of my vendors, but would love to know for future reference.  Also, about how many people are you hosting?

I'm having 80 guests and the venue is the Double Tree at Sunny Isles.  Speak to Cynthia... she has been so helpful.  My photographer is a good friend which is why I got a great deal.  She recently started her business but has a true gift for capturing special moments.  Her website is:  http://www.picturemebeautifulphotography.com/

I posted this because most of us are pretty much born with the idea of a big wedding but not everyone can afford it.  I have come to realize it's about sharing your special moment with loved ones not about the most elaborate 5 hour party.  If you think a little outside the box and learn to make some compromises you can still have a special ceremony and money for a great honeymoon or even a house.  Hope you find the info helpful.
