WSG- The Whole Holistic Wellness Pie

Who said pie?! Where's the pie?!

Many people think that there are seven types of wellness- physical, emotional, environmental, occupational, spiritual intellectual, and social.

Where do you stack up in the wellness categories?

Which aspect(s) of wellness do you need to focus on?

Are you going to just focus on one aspect at a time?

What is your ultimate goal for that aspect (or aspects)? And what little goals have you set to achieve that big goal? Are your little goals worth a "charm?" Are they achievable, yet still difficult for you to attain?

And remember, there is a lot more to physical wellness then just weight loss. Are you eating well? Getting in your daily servings of fruits and vegetables? Taking a multi-vitamin everyday? Drinking enough water? How is you cardiovascular health? Are you strong? Do you need to focus on incoporating a weight lifting routine in your life?

Here are some of the charms that you might see in your future regarding fitness goals:

Here are some ideas for your goals:
-Complete the 200 sit up challenge- http://www.twohundredsitups.com/
-Complete the 100 push up challenge- http://www.hundredpushups.com/
-Complete the 200 squart challenge- http://www.twohundredsquats.com/
-Complete the Couch to 5K Program- http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml
-Drink 8 glasses of 8 ounces of water everyday for two months
-Participate in some sort of cradio activity 5 days a week for two months
-Eat your proper serving of fruit everyday for two months
-Eat your proper serving of vegetables everyday for two months-http://www.fruitsandveggiesmatter.gov/

But what other goals might you have for other aspects of wellness? Such as emotional?
Perhaps writing in your journal everyday for two months? Meditating everyday for two months?

Let's really nail down what you want to focus on for the next few months-

1. Which aspects of wellness are you focusing on?

2. What three goals do you want to set?
       1.
       2.
       3.

You may be thinking..."Ugh. Lunar- Why TWO months?! You are annoying! Ha"

    Well-
In 2009, European Journal of Social Psychology, published a study that indicated on average- it takes 66 days to form a habit, Lally et al. (2009)

PsyBlog has this nifty little graph:

And we all want to make good habits, right?

So my weight loss goals are as follows:
    10%- 226 pounds
    25 pounds- 226 pounds
    50 pounds- 201 pounds
    75 pounds- 176 pounds
    100 pounds- 150 pounds
    Ultimate Goal- 145 pounds

::sigh:: How did I let this happen?

    Moving on...

    Other Goals:
Physical: Is it bad that I totally want to try all the fitness challenges?
-Couch to 5K- Ultimate Goal- Disneyworld Half Marathon- (clicky). Did you know that my mom joined an online discussion board- and about two dozen ladies trained together online- and then many months later- all met up and walked the Porttland Marathon! HOW COOL IS THAT?!
-Fruits and Vegetables- 2 cups of fruit and 2.5 cups of vegetables every day.
       -Water- 8x8
-Strength Training- Andrew and I buy 42 pound bags of kitty litter. They are SOOOOO heavy for me! And I was thinking....GEEZE- how am I going to carry around a toddler?! I read on a growth chart that the average 6 year old is 45 pounds- I want to lift that up easy.

    My weight loss goals are:
    10%- 199.8 pounds
    25 pounds- 197 pounds
    50 pounds- 172 pounds
    Ultimate Goal- 150 pounds

I can no longer blame this weight on having kids. My baby is 3 now :-( I don't think it classifies as "baby weight" any more.

    Other Goals:
    Physical:
-Couch to 5K- Ultimate Goal- 3 Day for the Cure (clicky).
       -Water- 8x8
-Strength Training to help tone up all of this flab (seriously, I don't want the arms that sag underneath)
-Participate in some sort of cradio activity 5 days a week

    Social:
-I want to join a club or class of some sor that's just for me. Being a mom I have to take care of everyone else all the time, and I'd like one thing to be uniquely mine.

    Intellectual:
-I want to go back to school and finish my flippin degree. I've been taking classes on and off for 10 years at a 2 year college. smh My younger self would b!tchslap me right now.

I feel like if I focus on my physical well being, my mental health etc should follow suit naturally.

First, that is SO cool that our mom did that. I just cannot tell you how awesome that is. Maybe we'll do that one day! After all, I'm very close to Disneyworld :-)

Second, my 6 year old is 54lbs although with her recent growth spurt she's probably gained some more weight. Now granted, she's on the higher end of the scale (she's always been really big for her age, not fat), but it is really hard to pick her up! Seriously, when I have to carry her up the stairs I'm afraid my legs are going to give out from under me lol

I promise to come back to this - I'm about to go make lunch.  But I wanted to say that I clicked on the 200 sit up link, and is it just me, or does that woman on the first page look severly unhealthy?  Like, she might break in two because she's so thin?

I am a vegetarian already so I tend to eat pretty healthy I need to eat more veggies though.  I do roughly 200 crunches/sits when I work out I should do that more often

I love this whole idea Lunar
