agonizing over hotel room decisions, any advice?

I have made zero progress finalizing our hotel room. We will be in Vegas for 5 nights (Thurs - Tue) and would ideally like something that 1) center strip, or at least easy access to cool places for cocktails and people watching 2) a nice deep bathtub (preferably a jetted) 3) a cool view. Part of the problem is that I haven't figured out how much of our budget to allocate to a nice hotel room vs. eating out while we're there.

Here's what we're looking at:
Bellagio Suite at Bellagio (at the tippy top of our price range, worth it?)
Augustus Tower Premium

I'm also considering Planet Hollywood Towers -- how central is it to all the action in the big hotels?

Any and all advice welcome.

    I love the palazzo and the venetian. All the rooms are suites and so spacious.

    I recently stayed at the Vdara which is at City Center. It was an amazing suite huge bathroom with huge tub that had a strip view ( saw the eifel tower and the Bellagio fountains from the tub all night). plus side is its still pretty new too

    The PH Towers Westgate are next to the parking garage for PH. They face Harmon Ave but depending on the room you can still see the strip.

    Planet Hollywood (regular not the Towers) is central on the strip, has pretty large bathrooms with big tubs and the casino has a very hip vibe to it.  Its one of my favorite places to stay.

    Awesome, thanks guys. We've started a spreadsheet to try to help our decision making. I'm really liking the sound of Vdara, thanks for the tip.

    Also, that has to be the best strip map I've ever seen, thanks!

    I'm doing a room block at PH and Paris, mostly due to their mid-strip location.

    I stayed at the Venetian where all the rooms are spacious with a sunken living room area, the bathtub's was also very generous. The Palazzo must be even better and with great views. Other than that the Tower suites at the Wynn/Encore are famous for their views. As far as the budget goes you should try Priceline or Hotwire.

    We stayed at the MGM and had a blast. The view out our bedroom window was of the airport (I used to work at an airport and miss it so I loved the view to be honest) My guests also had nice views, some were of the pool and some were of the NY NY hotel (with roller coaster)
    We had a nice bathtub and nice room, the bathrooms was very large and had a door (some people reported no doors on their bathroom - or a clear one, but we had a normal door!)
    I also loved that the MGM was connected to the monorail b/c we found that super helpful in getting around.

    We set up a room block at Bellagio and it was very resnable. It is AMAZING there :)

    Planet Hollywood was a great place to stay, but they do not have jetted tubs. They have soaking tubs...nice, but not jetted.
    As for views, we had the Panorama Suite and it was beautiful. Many of my other guests had similar views, though not as great as that suite.

    Thanks so much for all the input. A panorama suite at PH would have been ideal, but they were sold out for our weekend. Bellagio, Wynn and Vdara almost won out, but at the last minute my fiance discovered the Mandarin Oriental and that's what we ended up booking.

    We got a decent deal so it ended up costing less than what we were considering at the Bellagio. It meets the view and bathtub requirements nicely. MO is a non-gaming, non-smoking hotel, which is good and bad. But since we're going to be there for six nights I figure it'll be great to have a vacation away from Vegas while still being in Vegas.

    The real dealbreaker for my fiance though was the valet closet, he's obsessed:
