June 2013 Weddings

Wedding Shoes

So I was so nervous finding bright yellow shoes that were flat.  But I found them :D I just ordered them and they will be here on Friday!

Have you ladies even started thinking about it yet?  I know I'm kind of crazy to be worrying about that right now... but what can I say I saw them and fell in love.

Re: Wedding Shoes

  • I got my shoes last week! They are glittery Christian louboutins... Now I just need to learn to walk in a 4 inch heel ;

  • I'm glad to hear that there are other ladies out there who have already started the shoe hunt!! I started looking about 6 weeks ago, because our venue is outdoors and I have to walk down a little hill, so I had all sorts of requirements for my shoes, including finding a pair that didn't have really thin heels (wedges and I don't mix well). I managed to snag a pair of shoes that were marked down from last year (Seychelles, one of the brands that BHLDN carries). They came in about a week ago, and they're perfect!! I don't know how I'm going to keep myself from wearing them before next June. And Cassie, your shoes are really cute...hope they work out when you get them delivered!!
  • Those are so cute!

I have bought my reception shoes (well, boots :-p) I am just waiting for them to get shipped since they are backordered.  Though I imagine it shouldn't take over a year lol.

I haven't even thought about my ceremony heels mostly because I am frustrated.  I want blue shoes but they have to be like a 2" heel to be the same as my boots and for my dress.  I am 5'7'' so my dress is already perfect length for 2" heels as is, and well you can't really add length anyways lol.  This has been very frustrating because all the cute blue shoes I find are super tall or well, I don't think they are cute lol.  I think I am going to go the dyeing route but haven't been stressing it much yet.

  • I've started the search for shoes as well! I thought I was going to go with a Vivienne Westwood Anglomania Lady Dragon, but I've read reviews where they say the shoes are incredibly uncomfortable and the brides were hobbling around in a matter of hours. Sooo...moving on from that.

I'm clumsy so I have to find a shoe that has good support and isn't too high. I'm thinking 2-3" would be perfect. I want a pair of blue heels for the ceremony and then change into some sort of sandal/wedge for the reception since I'm sure my feet will hurt!

My mom and sister think they are "inappropriate" for a wedding...but they suit me, soooo they can shove their opinions :)

  • Shoes are one of my favorite things in the world. So I started my search already. I did find a pair for the ceremony that are very sparkly. I'm sure I will  opt for a more comfortable wedge for the reception.  So I'm not done yet.

  • I found a pair of fucshia 3 inch heels with an ankle strap that I can't keep my mind off of. I fully intend to order them.

    What shade of blue?

    Here's are a few:

I have a pair of the first ones in champagne for a wedding that I am a bridesmaid in -- they're super comfy :)   The only blue they come in is navy though.  They are a lighter shade in person than on the website.

ETA: I haven't looked for my shoes yet because I kept hearing that you can't wear certain shoes depending on the fabric of your dress (i.e. no glittery/rhinstone shoes if you have organza at the bottom).  Once I finish the dress hunt, I'll start the shoe hunt!

  • I'm in the same boat as others regarding height. I want a decent heel, but I don't want my dress to be too short or for me to be taller than FI. I'm about 5'6" and he's a little over 5'8" so nothing too ridiculous for me. I also want to have different (more comfortable) shoes for the reception because at every dance or banquet I've gone to, I always end up taking off my shoes for comfort. I might find some fun, sparkly flats.

Oooh! I have an idea! I'll have my ceremony shoes in one wedding color and reception shoes in the other. Ok so I'm on the hunt for blue and purple shoes. Here we go!

OP I love that bright yellow color! So cute.

I have not yet begun the official search. I want to wait until after my dress is purchased since the style of shoe will depend on the style of dress. Being a shoe lover though, I'm always on the lookout for things I like! I have a Pinterest board full of potentials - everything from blue, bright fuschia, white, glittery, blinged-out, even ones with spikes on the heel! My issue is that I like my heels super tall (I find 5 inches to be perfect) and our ceremony site is down an unpaved slope with lots of uneven ground. I don't think 5 inch stilettos are a good idea.
