Making a birdcage veil for $10-$20!!!

Just thought I would share this info with anyone who is interested.

Since I am making EVERYTHING for my wedding (minus the dress, haha)...I decided to make my own birdcage veil. After a lot of searching, I found and bought a yard of 9" wide ivory french netting on Etsy for $7 (including shipping) from seller: BirdcageSupply. I couldn't push myself to spend $98 on a veil, eek!!

Directions can be found here: http://laurenandanthony.blogspot.com/2009/06/my-birdcage-veil-finished-product.html or here: http://www.projectwedding.com/wedding-ideas/how-to-make-your-own-birdcage-veil-for-under-30-00

Depending on what flowers, combs, and sparkles you buy...you can surely make it for around $15 or so! I'll post my process and results when I finish!! =)

I wanted to make one too because those veils are super expensive but when I tried to figure out how to make one I felt that was way too difficult. I ended up buying my veil on Etsy for $19 and I found a flower hair clip at Claire's for $5!
Good Luck!!! Can't wait to see what the finished product looks like. =)

Fun! Make sure to post pictures when you're done!  I wanted to make a birdcage veil, and I bought the supplies, but ended up going with a longer veil.  GL!

I was going to make mine too!  I love the birdcage veil look...so vintage and glamourous!  But After much debate and feedback, I decided to go with my mom's longer veil.  I'm just going to remove it from the Tiara (I'm so not the "princess-tiara" type!) and attach it to a headband with a a flower, etc. that I'll be making!  I did, however, find a seller on etsy that had a complete kit for sale...the netting, your choice of color for the netting, your choice of comb, clip, etc., and the actualy instructions.  It was priced at around $12.00, then you would just have to buy the decorative ascessory separate!  Good luck!  Can't wait to see pics!
