Re: Friday Confessions!

I confess I have the attention span of a 2yr old.  I can work constructively for hours without a problem, give me something small to do and I'm all over the place.  I almost lost my mind unwrapping a bag of hershey kisses.  Sad.

I don't want to do any research with this wedding planning.  I'm relying on Nesties and  Knotties mostly.  I don't want to interview multiple vendors.  I just want to pick them, sign the contract, and be done.

Everyone expected me to be a bridezilla wedding planner, but I really just want to be married.  I know I'm going to have a great time at my wedding, but I have an anxiety disorder and wedding planning is making it much, much worse.  Hence my desire to set up vendors and be done.

I'm with ya! I am usually such a perfectionist, but wedding planning is one thing in my life that I don't want any parts of. It's soooo overwhelming! If I could afford a planner, I would hire one in a heartbeat and just show up on my wedding day. Hang in there <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-cool.gif" border="0" alt="Cool" title="Cool" />

I confess that I've been slacking about going to the gym.  I'm sure these next few weeks it's going to be packed too.

I confess that since I baked my Christmas cookies I've literally been eating a minimum of like 5 a day.

I am sitting home today and watching trash TV that I DVR'd and eating cookies.  First show - extreme couponing.  Second show - Bridalplasty.  Third - Kendra.  And it begins!

Beagle - I think you're doing a great job so far.  Relying on Knottie and Nesties counts as research :)

I confess that while I love all my nieces and nephews and my in-laws, being around three of them at once, plus DH's entire family this week stressed me out a lot. The fact that their entire stay was also on our dime (no one even offered to  help pay for the pizza we ordered in for everyne) but their idea (because everyone wanted to see our house, otherwise we would have gone down to MIL's house) majorly annoyed me.  I certainly don't expect to be catered to in my own home, but I felt kind of underappreciated this week in a big way....

I confess I just got up and need to get ready for my date with MH

Beagel - We did this with every.single.vendor. Except our venue, where I just e mailed a ton of places asking what discounts they gave for winter, the one with the biggest discount/cheapest price we checked just to make sure it wasn't fugly... and booked. It doens't have to be too stressful, because at the end of the day the crap doesnt matter.

I have been stalking these for a solid month now, waiting for the after Christmas sale so I could purchase them

    http://www.potterybarn.com/products/twelve-days-of-christmas-ornament-set/

I found them at the store at KOP for $40 and I was totally down with paying for them.  Until I saw how HUGE they were.  They are like the size of a salad plate!

Now I'm really torn.  I've been dreaming of these for so long, but it's not exactly what I wanted... to purchase or not to purchase?

Amer- those are 4 inches, not THAT big but how heavy are they? I know if they are very heavy the branch of the tree might not lke it.  The tree I got this year has weak branches and it is a good thing my balls are mostly plastic.

I confess I hate my month board now. EVERY month board gets like this after the 3 month mark, and they are making me insane. Do you have to post about every little effing thing in a new post? NO! Do it in the morning post. WTF.   I can't take it. Bring on March already!

I confess there is a girl on that board that needs to change her wedding date cuz her parents don't have the money to pay 3k more. Um don't change your date, you will get the 3k back from the guests. Take a little loan out. Not that hard. If I had to bump my date up or whatever it would not happen, I would loose every vendor because they won't be available. DUH.  3k is not that much money. It is not like its 15k or something.

b2b- isnt the girl also going to lose the money she already put down for the venue?

Amer, don't even get me started here on their subpar Christmas gift-giving behaviors, lest I start to sound selfish and greedy :P

*cozies up with her fabulous new sweater from the Limited that Santa dropped off at her Mom's house* This sweater makes up for it, I think.

BTB, I confess that I hear you on the March 2011 board completely. I haven't posted there in forever because I'm getting a little tired of the CHECK, CHECK CHECK, CHECKITY CHECK CHECK CHECK stuff. That being said, my dress came in yesterday and invites went out today. And that was my AW moment for the day.   :-)

    *WARNING: DISNEY OBSESSION AHOY!*

I confess that I am giddy about our August trip to Disney all over again because I got DH to agree to going to the Hoop De Doo Revue on our first night in Orlando.  I've never done it before...I'm thinking it will be a fun way to kick off the trip and will be completely different than the romantic honeymoon dinner we did at the California Grill last time :)

(BriarRose, you did this, right?  Was it uber-cheesy, or just the right amount of cheesy?  Is it worth it to spring for the front-and-center tickets, or should we stick to the cheap seats?)
  • edited December 2011
LRM - HoopDeeDoo is AWESOME!  Best dinner show I've ever done at Disney.  We had the cheap upstairs seats and got just as much attention from the actors as the folks downstairs did, if not more.  Food is great - participation is great - totally a fun time.

I can't believe YOU have never done the Hoop De Doo Review! It is awesome, you will love it! We also sat upstairs. The actors come up there and perform too.

We had a blast when my family went years ago.  It was so funny. My little brother was picked on which I highly enjoyed!

I confess that I get annoyed that my mom calls me for computer and other electronic questions when my 15 yr old brother lives with her.  It's hard to explain things over the phone and he knows more than I do. I love her to death and would do anything for her, but really he needs to help her with computer stuff.  I had to go over once to set up their DVD player, like he couldn't have done that.

    Confession:

I am tired of my father's bullshitt.  And I feel like I sold myself to him in order to pay for the wedding, because there was no way my mom could have done the majority of it on her own.  And now, I am seriously thinking about cutting him out of my, and my future children's, life altogether.  You had your chance, MF.
