New York-Long Island

Looking for LI Venue

Hi,

Looking for a Venue which holds one venue at a time for a budget of 20,000 September 2013.

Re: Looking for LI Venue

  • What part of Long Island?  Suffolk?  Nassau?  North Shore?  South Shore?  Also, how many people are we talking?  If it's only like 100, you'll have very different options than if you're trying to host a wedding for 300 on that same budget.

<div>Area location is not concern more less the venue for the price. Bellport Country Club Qouted 22693 for 200pp wedding party. </div>
  • Ummm.... so if you have a price quote, what exactly are you trying to ask here?

My weding was in August, and for a Saturday afternoon wedding, places that quoted us less than $100 per person were Larkfield Manor, the Bayview House at Captain Bill's, the Mansion at Timber Point, Mediterranean Manor, Ariana Waterfall Catering, Jericho Terrace, and the Fox Hollow.  Fox Hollow and Larkfield host more than one event at a time (although I ended up going with the Garden Terrace room at the Fox Hollow and honestly, I never even noticed that ther were any other weddings happening at the same time as mine).  I never ended up visiting the other places because I liked Fox Hollow so much, so I can't speak to their set-up.

I never understood why people would try to get a quote here period. How hard is it to call the place and get a quote from them? Are people honestly this lazy? Our quotes would not be accurate, someone could get quoted one price and someone could be quoted another at the same venue. The venue would be able to provide a more accurate figure. Just saying.

    Posted by OwningAHome1981
This is a blog asking simple questions, if you are here to complain maybe you not respond at all. Why do you assume no one made any calls,  is there something wrong with asking for help or advise?

<div>First of all, you mean "advice" not "advise."  Second of all, this is a message board, not a blog.  A blog is an online-journal-type of thing, generally maintained by one or a small group of people where they post article-length entries about a particular topic on a regular basis.  This is not a blog.</div><div>
</div><div>And if you made calls, you would have answers about what things cost, so you wouldn't need to ask here, right?  That's Owning's confusion with posts like yours.  Now, if your question is "We really love Bellport Country Club, but we can't afford it, does anyone have any suggestions for places that look similar but charge less?" that would be a question that would make more sense to put out to a message board, since there's not really a way to get that information without asking other brides.  But saying "Hey, please give me a list of cheap places and prices, k thx" just kind of seems to be you being too lazy to call the places you're interested in yourself.</div>

    Posted by StephBeanWed61502
first off you sound very angry and I don't what for, if you are assuming no one does research why are you responding to the post. I notice several posts are requesting info on venues for budget purposes in the past why can't I do the same, there is nothing wrong with asking.  <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-embarassed.gif" border="0" alt="Embarassed" title="Embarassed" />
  • Not one bit angry, I promise, just trying to explain. And obviously these posts don't bother me personally, or I wouldn't have answered in the first place, now would I? You didn't seem to understand why posts like this would annoy some people, so I explained it to you. That's all that happened here.

If you had made calls, you wouldn't be asking us for prices. FYI I'm not mad or annoyed, I'm just confused. And yes, I see a lot of posts like this- I'm just not sure why people wouldn't call the place themselves since the places would know the exact figure- we would not know the exact prices for every situation.

</div><div>Owning a home 1981 must just go on these boards looking for a fight. So funny, was looking at a post I made in September about venues and she claimed I was "vain" because I wanted to be the only wedding at my venue. Then randomly opened this post and hereeeee she is!  This forum is for people to see what other people are experiencing. Hence why this girl was asking prices from other people not the venue. If you dont know the reason why everyone is here discussing their weddings, then you should beat it. </div>
