Re: FFT?/GOOD MORNING AWESOME EENERS!!!

• Whenever we talk about WP on here I always think of that ABC Family movie, Dating Jane, or something about a BM trying to get a BF before her cousin's wedding because she told the mom & bride she was dating someone. I say this because there's a scene at the salon where she's being told they have to get their toenails painted a specific color even though they're wearing close toes shoes. The convo reminds me of some of the brides on here (not E specifically, but all over TK).

• Mmm... chicken pizza.  I should really start making my own.
• We called my parents when we got engaged, and I told them not to tell anyone cause we would be up there for a long weekend in 2 days and wanted to tell them ourselves (grandparents, aunts and uncles...).  First thing I heard when I walked in the door at my aunt and uncle's house was "Congratulations - let's see the ring" from them.. First thing at home from my parents friends' "congratulations - let's see the ring"... I was annoyed.  My dad has a big mouth.  I don't think I can tell him I'm PG before I want the world to know.
• Snips - it was his first attempt and I was quite impressed.  He always tries to one up me in the kitchen and he definitely blew my chicken pesto homemade pizza out of the water.  I'm ok with that though - when I come up with something new he cooks way more in the kitchen to get even.
• I only have one sister and we were each other's MOH.   She got married 13 years before me and told me I was hers and she was mine.  I laughed, but honestly I wouldn't have picked anyone else anyway.

I flame my captain who sent me a text back on Dec 20 asking what days off I need in the month of January.  I only gave him one date Jan 2.  It's the last regular season game  and it's DH's first day off since Dec 10 (plus he has not come home before 10pm either).

We got our schedule today.... Guess who is working Jan 2?   I'm so pissed.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

This is my mom. Luckily I was able to tell her, my brother, and grandparents at the same time but I had to call everyone else right away because she was itching to get at the phone. After I made my calls she already had the phone in hand waiting for me to tell her it was okay.
Oh yes.  Definitely doughnuts.  I'm surprised no one else jumped on the Krispi Kreme is gross train with me. :(

Know whats even grosser, krispi kreme donuts made into burger buns or sandwiches. Uuugh.
• H's family was good about keeping everything to themselves until we told immediate family, but my parents have the biggest blabbermouths.  I doubt my wedding dress was a surprise to a single one of my mother's friends since she took pictures of me dress shopping and showed everyone with eyes pictures of me in the dress.  I didn't really care about "surprising" anyone with the dress, but c'mon lady.  Some restraint, please.

No chicken on my pizza.  Only traditional toppings.  But I used to do homemade pizza when I lived near friends.  Now that it's just H and me in a tiny kitchen, it's frozen pizza or going out for pizza.
• Say what Nebb?  That's nasty and I like KK donuts.
• But I'll say, Stacks, I'm impressed that your husband can make pizza.  That's a good husband.
• I have chicken... what should I do with it?  I also have white rice, canned tomatoes, lots of cheese (different kinds), frozen broccoli, onion, 3 small potatoes and lots of spices and condiments.
No cream soups which makes my fallback casserole out of the question.

• Ew Nebb.  That's revolting.

Stacks, I'd be so happy if H would do that.
• Loopy - baked chicken with salsa and cheese.  I don't know why - just sounds good and easy right now.

• Loopy, I was just about to suggest a cassarole.  Darn.

Any pasta?  You could do a chicken pasta.

Or do a chicken stir fry over the rice.

I have to take our cable box to Time Warner and I'm a little disappointed I won't be able to see the thread reach 1000.

I make a roux out of chicken broth (from a bouillon cube) with flour and then rice with cheese (in your case I'd put some broccoli and onion in it). Bake.

• I'm leaning casserole... I usually do rice on the bottom, with the broccoli mixed in.  chicken breasts (boneless/skinless) seasoned on top, and some kind of sauce.. but both of my usual sauces use cream soups as the base, so I'm not sure where to go from here...
• Ugh, Nebb, that looks disgusting. And I'm a total donut pig.
• Yeah that's just gross. I also don't get the KFC Double Down Sandwich (mentioned earlier in the thread. The chicken IS the bread.

The Lutherburger. After Luther Vandross, for some reason.

I finally had to tell my brother I was engaged about a week before I told my mom. My mom was visiting and I wanted to tell her in person. Miraculously, he kept it a secret.

• Fried butter?  What's the point?

Actually, though, I have had sweetened fried pig fat.  I was traveling through rural China in the early 90s, and I guess it was a delicacy.  I choked my cube'o'fat down as quickly as I could.
To be fair, strlzfan11 and mkrupar made uneducated comments about m/c too, but they didn't go nearly as far as you did.
Posted by squirrly
I know this thread is probably dead by now, but I wanted to comment.  My sister had two miscarriages around the 6 week mark.  The first time they were planning on waiting to tell family at Christmas (which was a few weeks later) and I mourned her loss the same as I would if I had known she was pregnant.  The second time I had actually suspected she was pregnant again as was going to give her a week to come clean before I outright asked her.  She had the m/c three days after I had concluded on my own that she was pregnant.  When she got pregnant with my nephew they waited until they had their first doctor's appointment at 8 weeks to tell family and then they waited until they got out of the first trimester to go public on FB.

Each woman can decide for herself when she wants to tell people, but for me personally, I wouldn't tell until it's been confirmed by the doctor.  JMO.

And I also understand it being easier to tell internet strangers versus family about having a m/c.
