Circus Train

Hi Ladies-

As you know, I'm now very close to the train tracks in my new home. This morning, while walking around the "lake"- I saw a train with airplane bodies on it! What a trip, right? And then later before lunch, Andrew and I saw the engine that was used to carry the 2002 winter olympic torch!

But here is a little train fact that gives me warm and fuzzies.

To this day, the circus still travels by train. Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus actually has two trains that criss-cross acoss the country- a blue unit and a red unit. Each circus train is home to about 270 of the 350 performers, cast, train crew, animal handlers, staff and other circus departments.

It reminds me of times gone by...and makes my heart happy. It also makes me want to go to the circus.

Hm.  That's actually oddly interesting.   You just made me want to go to the circus.

My parents used to take me to the Circus every year. We went to the Barnum & Bailey Circus when it was in Salt Lake City during the summer. I loved going early and getting to talk with all of the performers and see little tid-bits of their acts up close :)

I'm reading this right now! I only read it on the lightrail to and from class though so it's taking me longer to get through it. I'm loving it so far though :)

    Aren't I a nerd? This is a totally random post, isn't it?

I'm glad that you all don't seem to mind my random posts. LOL...because this one...yup...pretty darn random.

I think I also feel fondly for the circus train from Water for Elephants. So when I found out that the circus train still exists- with elephants and all- I was like..."whoa....really?"

The train passes by the house twice a year- and now it's on my life's to do list...gotta see the circus train.

I enjoy your random posts/facts lunar! It's entertaining.

I have not read Water for Elephants yet (nor have I seen the movie). It's on my "to-read" list which seems to grow by the day and never get any shorter.

Nope...someday, someday I will see the circus train. Andrew's dad just gave me a magazine article about the circus train.

The trains are over a mile long!

Aww...Don't let that ruin the circus for you. That isn't what the circus is like anymore. :(

Look at this wee one bouncing on his bed in his parents train car apartment!
