Aerosmith

I was just wondering if Aerosmith's I don't want to miss a thing is an appropriate Father/Daughter dance song.

Have you listened to the lyrics??  Totally inappropriate for a father daughter dance.

I could stay awake just to hear you breathing
Watch you smile while you are sleeping
While you're far away and dreaming
I could spend my life in this sweet surrender
I could stay lost in this moment forever
Where every moment spent with you is a moment I treasure

Don't wanna close my eyes, I don't wanna fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you baby and I don't wanna miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you the sweetest dream would never do
I'd still miss you baby and I don't want to miss a thing

Lying close to you feeling your heart beating
And I'm wondering what you're dreaming
Wondering if it's me you're seeing
Then I kiss your eyes and thank God we're together
I just wanna stay with you in this moment forever, forever and ever

I don't wanna close my eyes, I don't wanna fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you baby and I don't wanna miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you the sweetest dream would never do
I'd still miss you baby and I don't want to miss a thing

I don't wanna miss one smile, I don't wanna miss one kiss
I just wanna be with you, right here with you, just like this
I just want to hold you close, feel your heart so close to mine
And just stay here in this moment for all the rest of time

Don't wanna close my eyes, don't wanna fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you baby and I don't wanna miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you the sweetest dream would never do
I'd still miss you baby and I don't want to miss a thing

I don't wanna close my eyes, I don't wanna fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you baby and I don't wanna miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you the sweetest dream would never do
I'd still miss you baby and I don't want to miss a thing

I don't wanna close my eyes, I don't wanna fall asleep
    Yeah, I don't wanna miss a thing

it's totally appropriate, the song was written for Steve Tyler's daughter,

In my opinion, it's inappropriate judging from the lyrics.

i'm not so sure this is true.  this is was wikipedia says:
    <p>"I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" was written primarily by <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diane_Warren" title="Diane Warren"><font color="#0645ad">Diane Warren</font></a><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Don't_Want_to_Miss_a_Thing#cite_note-imdb.com-0"><font color="#0645ad"><span>[</span>1<span>]</span></font></a>. She stated in her compilation album <em><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diane_Warren_Presents_Love_Songs" title="Diane Warren Presents Love Songs"><font color="#0645ad">Diane Warren Presents Love Songs</font></a></em> that the song was originally meant for <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Celine_Dion" title="Celine Dion"><font color="#0645ad">Celine Dion</font></a>."</p>

It wasn't written for Liv Tyler.  When she got the role of Gracie in the God awful movie Armageddon, Aerosmith agreed to do the entire soundtrack.  Diane Warren wrote the song which is directed at two characters in the movie.  This isn't Steven Tyler singing this song to his little girl.

Considering FI and I are considering it for OUR song and the lyrics - IMO it's inappropriate.

I'm of the persuasion that it is inappropriate.  If you want it though, keep it.  People may give sideways looks though.

...the entire soundtrack didn't consist of Aerosmith songs.

But back to the question. I'm a HUGE Aerosmith fan, but I think this would be a little weird.
