    I would keep things the way the are.  I know that the newly asked BM has not accepted yet but what if she does?  Wouldn't replacing the dropped out BM with a friend that lives near you hurt "Carly's" feelings?  Especially since you explained that you were limiting your WP to family and your very close best friend?

    So, since you already asked the replacement and if she says yes you need to stop messing with your WP.  If the replacement says no, then leave everything alone and just ask "Carly" to do a reading.

    Don't ask her.  She's not even second best at this point.  She will have been third best.  If you really wanted them up there, you should have asked them, even sides be damned.

    These are people, not props.  (TK party line, but man, does it fit.)
