I refused to buy in to all the hype around Twilight. I decided to give it a chance because friends insisted I would like it. I broke down this weekend and watched it on DVD.........2.5 times. Then I proceeded to go out and by New Moon so I could read it before seeing the movie. I am on page 317. 

I still think Edward is icky (all the other Cullen men are way more attractive) but I get the appeal now.  I have become obsessed and I am ashamed.

    Yay!  I'm so proud Kamikaze.  It's okay to like Twilight.  It IS!  It's like loving cocoa puffs, US Weekly, and Taylor Swift songs.  You can be ashamed, or you can flaunt your lameness.  FLAUNT IT KAMIKAZE!  Own it.

    I think I might go see a matinee of NM on Thursday since we don't have family stuff until 4 pm.  It will be my SECOND TIME seeing it.  : )

    After reading yet another EW article on twilight, my husband turned to me this weekend and said, "Maybe we should netflix these to see what all the fuss is about." 

    I gave him a lanie face and went back to watching football.

    The thing is I have no idea what the pull is. I do not find the acting or writing to be all that great. But I kept watching it, over and over. I am going to see New Moon in a few weeks to try to avoid some of the annoying teeny boppers.

    We have a channel called Reelz that's about movies.  They have a show about Twilight every day at 7.  A half hour show, every single day, about Twilight.  It's been going on for months now.

    What could they possible be talking about?

    I don't know why I hate Twilight. I love cheese and fluff of all kinds to the Nth degree. I have an extremely high tolerance for mindless, stupid entertainment.  It doesn't make any sense.

    I rebelled against HP for a long time, then I loved it. I did the same with Twilight, except that I don't love it. I just want to punch Stepehnie Meyers and steal all her money.

    I am entertained by it, though I am still able to roll my eyes when K. Stew. goes around saying it's an honor to play Bella because Bella's such a great role model.

    On the other hand, my brain fills with hatred every time I see a preview for the movie Old Dogs.  I don't know why.  Maybe it's John Travolta's hair.

    Everytime I see a trailer for Old Dogs, I shake my head at Seth Green.  There's no way he needed a paycheck THAT badly.

    I beg to differ. He hasn't had decent work since the Italian Job, and that was in 2003.

    It's really too bad that his career is in the pooper, I always had a soft spot for him.

    I do think I'm opposed to Twilight-themed heroin.  Weren't there an outcry over Bart Simpson ecstasy tabs about 15 years ago?  Circle of life, man.

    Seth Green also writes and produces a fair amount.  His wallet isn't hurting, but I'm betting it's hard for him to find acting roles that will cast his tiny, slightly odd looking self, despite his obvious awesomeness.

    K. Stew got photo'ed hitting the bong on her front steps, so "role model" may be a relative term.

    I only watched Twilight to make fun of it along with the Riff Trax but I could see how you might get hooked into the story if you read the book first.

    Oh, and Christin...you rock! I got my necklace back today.

    I hate it and I know why!  It promotes stalking to young men and orgasm deprivation to young women.  And it gives girls this crazy unrealistic idea of what love is like, same as how porn teaches teen boys how to do the sex wrong.  Twilight is romance porn.
