1. We go to Germany, see prototype of something NOT YET AVAILABLE.
2. We return home, Random Sales Manager (who was on trip), starts peppering me with questions: what's the pricing, do we have brochures, I need pictures, etc.
3. I tell her that until this thing is actually available, we're not releasing ANY of that. We don't advertise things you can't actually buy, because it tends to disappoint people. Which isn't great for business.
4. She runs off and for whatever reason tells Customer that oh yes, she saw them, they're real and they're SPECTACULAR. Please to be sending your orders ASAP. Salespeople. SMDH. Of course she copies me on this.
5. Customer replies to all asking for (you guessed it) pricing, brochures, pictures, specifications, and more.
6. I bite my tongue. Her customer, her deal.
7. She replies to all and says "Heffa?"
8. I say as nicely as I can that unfortunately, this thing is not yet available. We're planning to introduce it early next year, with all of the supporting material he requested and then some: pricing, brochures, pictures, specs.
9. Customer replies "You must be a lot of fun at parties. Thanks."
Seriously,asshole? I guess you don't want your Thing that badly, since you obviously want to fuckwith me. Sales Manager may be on commission and have to put up with you, but I get my check whether you buy out our entire inventory or drop dead tomorrow. Either way.
