Help me work with this Sigma blue

Long story short, there was little that my FI really cared about as far as the wedding goes, but one thing he really wanted was for his fraternity colors to be the main colors. I agreed.

Every wedding picture I've seen with royal blue and white as the colors has looked really harsh to me. I'm going for a softer look.  So far, I've decided to use more ivory instead of white and to look for an accent color to add to this, but I'm having a hard time picking that accent color. Any suggestions?

And FYI, our reception venue has gold plates and chargers, so whatever color I pick needs to go with that. I've pretty much decided ivory linens would be good for the main table cloth (I tried the royal blue - it was TOO much), but that's as far as I've gotten.

Please help lol. TIA

Maybe you could try having your accent color as gold and incorporate something like a soft gold or a champagne into your scheme so you can lighten it up

or you can switch it up and have the royal blue as your accent and work with the ivory and the champagne or gold

This is actually what I'm leaning towards. I'm just not sure how to bring the blue in during the reception... Are there flowers close to that blue? Everything I've seen is really light and looked a little too country.

Hi Mandy my DH is a Sigma and blue is my favorite color so we ended up using Sigma blue(horizon at David's Bridal) as our wedding color.  Here is a link to my recap and you can see a few pictures

I wore the bridal ivory from David's Bridal in my dress but it looks white in most all of the pictures thanks to the blue from the brides maids dresses.  I have more pictures at home and can post them later if you want to see more.

If i am not mistaking, there are blue roses. If you talk to your florist and let her know what you are looking for, they will be able to help you

I think i like the gold and Ivory with the Blue as the accent. Here are some ideas I thought about....

    1. You could do blue flowers for your girls and the bouts.
2.Maybe use blue and ivory as the sand colors if you are doing a sand ceremony.
    3. Wear Blue shoes/ have him wear blue socks
    4. Blue chair sashes
    5.  Blue vases for the centerpieces ( or if you are using those rocks in your centerpieces.. use blue rocks
    6. Add a little blue to the cake
    7. If you are doing a bling cake topper .. do it in blue bling
    8. Blue programs on white paper with a blue background.. or event font color/
    9. Some type of blue favor
    10. Get a blue garter

Ok what color are the guys wearing?  My DH and guys wore dark gray suits so we had silver accents and then used orange and yellow flowers as the accent to really make it pop.

Have you picked out bridal party dresses as of yet?

No, I've been trying to figure out how to do the colors first before I picked out the dresses. I know they'll be from Alfred Angelo because I have a large credit there (long story).

Thank you ladies for all of the suggestions - this helps!
