Flower Guy??

So.... I have a really close, completely platonic male friend who I would love to have in my wedding party. However, I already have 9 female bridesmaids. So, since I'm planning an adult-only ceremony, I was thinking of having him as the flower girl. He loves the idea, and I think it would be hilarious (I'm never one to shy away from a little harmless shock value). My fiance is alright with it too- but he's worried if it could possibly be a little too "different" for some people attending. Thoughts?

Re: Flower Guy??

  • Do you have as many groomsmen as bridesmaids?  If not, maybe he can stand on the groom's side.

I would totally do it though, it's your wedding and it seems like a harmless enough "shock" to me!  If he is your flowerman, make sure to post pics for us :-) My mom is insisting that our flowergirls wear fairy wings, so I'm picturing a grown man walking down the isle with pink tulle wings strapped to his back, lol!  After all, I think our ring bearer is going to wear wings- he's jealous of his little cousins and we don't want him to feel left out!

Talk to your guy friend and see what he wants to do.

But honestly, if you really want him as an attendant, I don't really see how 10 attendants is any different than 9.

But if you both like the flower girl idea, go for it. See the link above.

  • seriously? um yeah, i would just have him be an attendant - either your side or FI's side. either way would be better than that, IMO.
