Wedding Invitations & Paper

inserts

I read several posts about inserts....I don't really have out of town guests (my dad and my sister, but they already have their room) so do I need to include inserts?  I was just planning on invitation, rsvp card and rsvp envelope (self addressed and stamped)

Re: inserts

  • No, inserts are not necessary. The only time I think you really need an insert (and I'm using need loosely) is when your reception is at a different location than your ceremony. If they are at the same location, just put a line at the bottom of the invite saying "Reception to follow"
  • my reception is at a different location, but I was planning on having a map/directions on the back of the wedding program....should I include an insert with them in the invitation?

I would definitely include info about the reception with the invitation.  There may be people who can't come to the ceremony but would like to come to the reception and would need to know where it is before the day of the wedding.

  • I would include info if your reception is not at the same location.  I had little inserts with directions from the church as well as the link to our wedding website for all other information.

  • Would buisness cards work...with the wedding website on one side and the church/reception address on the other?
  • I suppose a business card would be fine - it's small enough though that some people might misplace it. Can you do a small card, that's not quit THAT small, and get the reception info and the website all on one side?
  • I can do just about any size...my do it yourself invitation kit didn't come with extra paper for inserts or anything, so I don't know what to do to make them 'match' though
