What will you include in your ceremony?

Hello all!

I'm wondering what everyone plans on including in their ceremonies.  Besides the vows, readings, etc... We're including a lasso ceremony as it is usually done in FIs culture [Mexican]. I know others do it too but he wanted it. I know there are many more, sand, candle etc. Are you including anything in your ceremony?

The only thing we had extra in our ceremony was Dr. Suess's Oh, the Place You'll Go!.  Our officiant read it just before he pronounced us husband and wife.  It was perfect since DH and I are Dr. Suess fans.

Keeping mine simple.  One poem and one scripture reading in addition to the vows, rings, etc.  The whole thing including the processional should last about 25 minutes.

My husband went to the same college as Dr. Seuss (just, like, 80 years late) and they're really big on Dr. Seuss stuff.

We didn't do any extras. Just an introduction, 2 readings, vows, exchange of rings, and that was it. It was about 10 minutes. But one friend who is used to sitting through 90 minute Mexican Catholic wedding masses said it was great. <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-laughing.gif" border="0" alt="Laughing" title="Laughing" />

  • I had a memory candle in honor of our loved ones who were no longer with us. Very simple but special.
