First on my list - Wedding Coordinators....need Rec's

Hi girls,

I just got engaged! =) First on my list is wedding coordinators, I'm going to need quite a bit of help, so a little more than just day coordination. These are some names I've heard just through conversation. Anyone know anything about them? If so, tell me the good, bad, and ugly. If not, suggest someone and why. Thanks so much.

1. Clink
2. Your Wedding, Your Way
3. Events by DECISIONS
4. Barbara's Brides
5. Impressions Event Solutions

Congratulations!!! The first step is admitting you have a problem. :)  Just kidding. It's good to be realistic about expectations and what you need from the beginning because it will help you seek out a coordinator that has the best fit for you. I've heard very good things about CLINK and my friend that used Barbara with Barbara's Brides loved her. Another name for your list if you want: Aimee Villa with Lizze Belle Events. She's my planner and one of the reasons I picked her was I was planning long-distance and had lots I needed help with. Here's her website - she lists her plan packages on there but you can customize them: http://www.lizzebelle.com/index.htm
I went with the "middle" package.

Really you need to meet with these people and see who is going to fit your personality and who will be as attentive as you like. Those are the biggest complaints with planners. There should be a list of the knot of questions to ask you planner.

A friend of mine is one of the owners of Clink. Personally, I can tell you that she's a great person, very organized and personable. Professionally speaking, I have seen pictures of tons of their events, and they are all spectacular.

We met with Clink and were very impressed with them.  We ended up choosing Caplan Miller because the rate was lower for the amount of services that we wanted, but Clink offers customized packages and might be a good fit if you are looking for something in between day of coordination and full service.  We spoke with Suzanne and N'Yoka and thought they were very responsive and personable.

Thank you SO much girls. I'm definitely going to call Clink, Barbara's Brides, Lizzie Belle Events, and Events by Decisions (no one seems to know anything about them but some of their pictures on their website are gorgeous and my style...there is a picture of a cake that I'm IN LOVE with)....I will keep you posted. If anyone has any other recs, feel free to add. I'm going to try and interview all of them within the next couple weeks and make a decision. We are wanting to get married July 30th. I need to get a venue (second on my list! =) ASAP!

I'm looking forward to getting to hear about everyone's weddings!!!!! FUN.

I used 36th Street Weddings and LOVED them.  I also know the owner of Something to Celebrate and she does excellent work as well.

I am using Aimee Villa with Lizze Belle Events- I cannot say enough good things about her!! I love that she has done many events at my venue (Vista West Ranch,) my florist (Petal Pushers,) and my photographer (The Nichols) Although I am planning from Chicago- I knew I wanted to handle most of the details- so I am just doing "day of" which is really "month of" but she is always there to reassure me of a choice, answer questions, came and met me at the venue on a Saturday....She is wonderful!!

We're actually switching planners . . . we originally went with Becky Sosa from Stress Free Events, but now we're with Rachel from Buon Affare Events. Rachel has been wonderful and very attentive so far . . . I agree with prior posts though, you need to meet them and see who fits your personality. Congrats on the engagement!

I'm a little late to the party, but I can't recommend Becky Brock with BZ Events enough! She is amazing, and I was so glad I had her there to help me with my wedding last year.
I've also worked with Barbara Hearne of Barbara's Brides as a vendor and she is awesome.
Once you have your list narrowed down based on quality of work and recommendations, you just need to meet with people and see whose personality you click with. Good luck! :)
