I used to be a hairstylist so I go to my old co-worker to get my hair cut. I haven't had a haircut since the end of August though, but it's a pain to drive all the way out to her.
2. If you have someone else cut your hair, do you always ask for the same cut? Yup, just an inch off the bottom, angles in the front, and layers.
3. How long is your hair now?
Past my ta-tas.
4. How often do you get your hair cut?
I should go every three months but I don't

Thick, straight, dry

Someone cut my hair in a way that when I tucked my hair behind my ears the top layers would fall forward and look very mullet-ish. I don't have a picture of it.
7. What color is your hair naturally? What colors have you dyed it?
Naturally it's a dark dark brown. I've had it platinum blonde, red, half blonde/half hot pink, black, every color imaginable.
8. What is the most annoying thing about your hair?
It has a really weird wave because my hair is so thick. I can't scrunch it and let it go natural so I'm a slave to the flat iron.

Yes I usually go to a salon in the town my parents live in. They always do an awesome job. I've never cut my own hair, I would ruin it!

I usually ask for the same cut, sometimes it varies by the number of inches but I never do anything drastically different.
3. How long is your hair now?
My hair is about 3 inches past my shoulders so it's getting to be that time where I usually go in for a trim. I like my hair to be around an inch past my shoulders.
4. How often do you get your hair cut?
I should get it cut more often but I don't ever have the time plus my salon is far away so I go about every 5-6 months...it's bad.

Brown, pin straight, and soft

When I was in middle school I wanted to cut all my hair off because I was sick of blow drying it every morning so I got this super short cut that basically looked crazy on me. No one liked it and I hated it after I got it cut. So after that I never cut it that short again until about my Junior year of college but I actually liked it more then. Maybe it was because I grew up a little haha.
7. What color is your hair naturally? What colors have you dyed it?
Brown, I have never dyed it or highlighted it. It's pretty plain.
8. What is the most annoying thing about your hair?
That it's so straight I can't curl it at all! If I try to curl it, the curls will fall out within the first few hours even with a ton of hair spray.

This picture is from college at formal and my hair actually stayed curly for most of the night! I loved the length and the curls! I was so happy with my hair that night. I'm the one in the orange dress.

When I was twelve it was awful I looked like a poodle. It was in my 7th grade school picture. I'm at work and luckily there are no pictures online of this!

My hair is a medium brown I think. I typically dye it a light brown. I've dyed it pratically blonde and I've dyed it really dark brown. Most time I dye it dramatically it's for theater related reasons. I got cast has Anne Frank with pratically blonde hair down to my but, I had to cut it just above shoulder length and dye it dark brown. That was the most dramatic thing I ever did to it.

2. If you have someone else cut your hair, do you always ask for the same cut? Yeah, pretty much. My hair takes forever to grow out, so I usually just have her trim off the dead and layer it up.
3. How long is your hair now? Just below my bra.
4. How often do you get your hair cut? I don't really have a set time -- when my hair starts to be hard to brush at the ends, I go ahead and get it cut.
5. Three words that describe your hair best. Fine, layered, copious.
6. Worst hair cut story? Pictures if you are over it already I haven't had a bad cut, but I had a few really bad styles and dye jobs when I was younger.
7. What color is your hair naturally? What colors have you dyed it? Dark brown, but I've had it highlighted blonde and dyed many shades of red.

I did have a lady I went to regularlly for awhile, then we broke up. I've been thinking about seeing her again though. And I cut the front of my hair for the first time ever this month, it was a weird feeling.

Sometimes, mostly not. It does seem to turn out the same no matter what I ask for. meh

Where my underarms start.

Sporadically. Six weeks here, 10 weeks there....

Oily, thick, and annoying.

I can't locate a pic of what it looked like on me, but this is the picture I brought with me each time I got my hair cut from 2004-2005:

I didn't know it at the time, but it was an AWFUL look for me. It was a total 70s shag look. One time they cut the bangs soo short, it looked terrible.

Brown naturally. I have dyed it a couple of times, twice semi-permanently with a redish brown highlight color. Like Crayola red. And once I bleached the front two pieces so they were orange for awhile.

Oiliness. I hate how it weighs my hair down.

I got it done at the Paul Mitchell Salon School (thinking it would be better than a regular beauty school for some reason) around here a couple of times when I was dead broke in college, and it didn't turn out awful, but there were some funky looking layers in there.

It's light brown. At least I think so. That's what color my roots are. I've been highlighting it blonde since I was 13.

It's really fine, so it gets tangled really easily, and it also looks greasy after one day.

No and no. I only get my hair cut every 6-8 months, and when I was a kid I used to cut off the patch of neck hair in the back. I don't do that anymore.

No - I usually just trust their judgement. I figure if they're asking me to pay $45+ for a shampoo, cut and style, they probably went to enough classes to know what looks good on me, and I don't. I usually complain about thin hair though.

Slightly longer than shoulder length

Every 6-8 months. My last cut was in October, and I'll probably go again at the end of April.

Not a bad hair cut, but a bad dye job. I really wanted to go blonde blonde for rush my sophomore year (I thought it'd help me get in), and the stylist messed it up really badly. They tried to fix it and made it worse, so I got a box of dark brown and did it in the dorm the day before rush.

Dirty blonde/light brown, depending on season. I've gone chocolate brown and lighter blonde, and then that disaster up there.

It doesn't curl. No matter how much I beg and plead and cry. Unless Elle does it.

I don't have a regular hair stylist. Since my hair is so long and I don't get coloring or anything, I just save money and go to Great Clips. I've only ever cut my own bangs, not brave enough to attempt anything more.

I've had everything from midway down my back to a chin-length bob. I generally have it long & layered now, but sometimes I get sick of it and chop it off.

Probably about the longest it's ever been...i'm measuring about 17.5". it's right at about the base of my shoulderblades. Holy moly!

About once every 1-2 months.

I got my hair cut when I first moved to CO 6 years ago. I wanted to get a bob, but the woman clearly didn't know how to work with curly hair. By the time she was done trying to even it out, I had nothing left! I was so pissed because I had to interview for my first "real" job out of college and I had 0% confidence with that hair. Luckily my hair grows pretty quickly. I would share a pic, but I don't have one on this computer and I just changed out my driver's license so I can't scan that either.

I've never colored my hair. It is a light brown.

8. What is the most annoying thing about your hair?
It gets really dry. I use Moroccan oil and that helps, but Denver is SO dry that it always has static. I think i'm going to try a coconut oil mask tonight...we'll see if that helps.

Yes, I have been going to the same girl for over 10 years now. I usually trim my hair (when I can afford it lol) every 3-4 months but, lately it's been every 6 months.

Pretty much. My hair is so thick/wavy it can't really do much.

I decided to cut my hair back in 2010 about 5 inches. My hair was sitting right at my chest but, i wanted something different. Well my usual girl was out for a month due to personal conflicts and I had another lady at the same salon cut it. Big mistake. She ended up cutting about 8 inches off...and my hair was sooo short which is a disaster for me because it just poofs out.

Dark brown naturally but, I highlight my hair too.

combo of frizz (from the curly hair texture) and dryness (also from the curly texture).

I used to have a girl I always went to but since I moved I haven't found someone I really love. I did go to the same person the last couple of times but I wasn't thrilled with my last haircut with her so I don't know if I'll go back.

I don't think I"ve ever cut my own hair.

I rarely ask for the same cut. I like to mix it up, especially with color.

Senior year of high school right before graduation pictures I decided to cut my hair really short and the woman pretty much butchered it. I really hate it when I go in with a general idea in mind and instead of altering my idea to make it look good on me the stylist just copies exactly whatever pictures I brought it. They are the expert not me and always make it clear that I don't mind if they don't stick exactly to what I'm thinking as long as it looks good.

Naturally it's brown. I've dyed it blonde, red, all shades of brown. I've also did blue, pink, purple, ect when I was younger.

How thick it is. It takes forever to dry but I'd much rather deal with my thick hair than have thin hair.

I try to get it cut & highlighted for free at Bumble & Bumble University, but when I can't get an appointment there, I'll just go anywhere I can find a good deal (as long as it has good reviews). I never cut my own hair.

I remember crying once as a teenager when they made me look stupid. I don't remember exactly what I didn't like about the cut, but I do remember thinking it was the end of the world.

Buddysmom - I was using the Moroccanoil brand that I purchased from my hair stylist. I've since found the same thing at Walmart under the brand name Organix. Anything that is labeled Moroccan or Argan Oil is pretty much the same thing in my experience.

Coco - thanks for the review on the coconut oil. Do you use it like a mask (put a ton in your hair and leave it for 15-20 min, then wash out)? Or did you use it as an after-styling taming oil? Just curious. Also - you should totally cut your hair like your "love" photo. It's amazing and it would look amazing on your beautiful face!

I don't like typing on my ipad, so I'm not answering everything. I go to the same stylist, though I switched stylists after my wedding. I don't generally cut my own hair. It's usually some sort of long layers, and the back currently reaches my bra strap. The worst cut was the guy who made a V that started at my chin and ended in the middle of my back. It was terrible. The long part was like a rat tail because my hair is thin. I didn't cut it again (except on my own) for a year. It's naturally very dark brown but has light brown highlights/ombré going on now. My hair has been every color of the rainbow except green. I can't post pics from here, but if you search for Stana Katic (Kate Beckett on Castle) you'll see my hair inspiration.

Yep, she's the only person I trust to cut my hair. I've get it trimmed and layered every six months for the last two years.

This woman litterally cut three bowl cuts around my hair and called it "layers." It looked awful! Thankfully my friend's mom fixed it. No I don't have pictures.

When it's humid, I have a the redhead version of an afro.

1. I haven't lived in one place long enough to have a regular stylist, I think. I go somewhere different everytime, except I just go to the MasterCuts at the mall when all I need is a trim. Go ahead and judge.

I cut/trim my own bangs pretty often, but that's it.

2. I don't usually give too many instructions. I try to trust the stylist.

3. It's actually down to the bottom of my boobs, but you can't really tell because the ends are so dry and gross. I'm way overdue for a trim.

4. I'm bad. I think I average once or twice a year. For a while, I was really good about getting it trimmed every 10 weeks-ish, but my last one was in September.

5. Wavy, unpredictable, blah.

6. Probably the time I got my mom to cut my bangs for me when I was 14. She cut them way too thick and I looked like I had just walked back out of my kindergarten picture.

7. Dark blonde. I usually put a bunch of highlights in it to brighten it up some, but I dyed it red for the fall. So now it's just a faded gross red. This thread it making me realize I really need to address my hair situation.

1. Do you have a hair stylist you always go to to get your hair cut? Do you routinely cut your own hair?
I used to. I moved away for school and she died a year or so later.
Right now, I've been trimming my own split ends
2. If you have someone else cut your hair, do you always ask for the same cut?
Never. I'm extremely inconsistent.
3. How long is your hair now?
Just past my shoulders.
4. How often do you get your hair cut?
Once a year, usually two or three times but I've cut back since I don't have luck with hairdressers
5. Three words that describe your hair best.
Inconsistent is the best word. :P 2) Straight, 3) Thin

So many! Hairstylists are so convinced that I look better with shorter hair (from 4-5 years of experience with it, I don't).After I stupidly decided to chop it off in ninth grade, my hairstylists kept it short, always nice though. No one else made my hair look that nice short (it was not a look my rounded face liked). One woman made my round face rounder with a style I would consider a bowl cut.
2012: I went to some big chain ones and the one lady made my hair look fine but blah and managed to fail at highlighting my hair. The second one convinced me that I should get short hair again because it'll look terrible long (and I caved, because I always do, especially when I'm having a bad hair day & since the cut before, every day was one). And then literally argued with me about the length I wanted my bangs, telling me that they will look horrible (it took all my strength to not tell her that I don't want to have my bangs look like hers because hers were ugly).
7. What color is your hair naturally? What colors have you dyed it?
Brown. It's lighter than it used to be.

I've dyed it reddish brown, red, and highlighted it. Currently it's brown, although the highlights from May are still there.
8. What is the most annoying thing about your hair?
How inconsistent it is. It's huge after I blow dry it and flat a couple hours later.
