Westmount Country Club Brides

Just wondering what vendors everyone used all the way down the line (flowers, entertainment, photography/videography, etc...) I'm especially interested in flowers (and price) being that you are required to use one of 3 florists and I'm hearing they can be kind of pricey.  Look forward to hearing all of your experiences.  Thanks!

I am a Westmount bride, but we haven't booked any vendors yet. I am looking forward to others responses. I heard the same about the flowers.

I'm not a WCC bride, but my friend was this past summer. She used Atlas Florist and paid $5900 (her flowers were a lot of orchids and calla lillies and her centerpieces were $200 a piece - they told her this was pretty much the lowest price for centerpieces). She used Jam Music and they were really good and very reasonable in price for everything she got (DJ, MC, uplighting, DJ lighting, flat screen tv, photo montage, pianist for cocktail hour, etc.) - I think she paid $2000.

We  met with Jam Music and really liked them. They are the only DJ company we met with tough so we want to met a couple more just to compare and will then book.

    Hi -

Florist - We'll be using Spitz & Peck due to the fact I couldn't stand Atlas. I've been quoted about $4400 and that is without high centerpieces, although we are doing our ceremony there and the chuppah is costing waaay more than it should. This is the one problem with the Westmount, you are going to pay through the nose for your flowers no matter who you use. Fully aware that the Westmount is $$ to begin with, but we purposely picked a Sunday in the offseason so that we could get the best deal - sadly we are getting ripped off for the flowers.
    DJ (Ceremony/Cocktails/Reception)- Aria Melody
    Photog - STAK Photography
Officiant - Jessie Blum of Eclectic Unions

    Hope this helps!

I'm using Atlas and it was not $200 a centerpiece, but I am doing more branches with candles.  It is definitely pricey though, but so far from the mock-ups they have done for me, they do great work and Matt has been great to work with!  I guess I will know for sure how things go in a few weeks though and I will write up reviews :)

I did not use any of their other vendors, but am planning on checking out their suggested limo company, who I have heard great things about! :)

I'm sure there is a line item for a kickback to the westmount in the mark-up.  Ridculous.

I am using Atlas for all my flowers and it came to about $4500 for everything including church decorations, my bouquet, 7 bridesmaid bouquets, 10 bouttienierres, cocktail hour flowers,2 mother wristlets/2 grandmother wristlets, 15 centerpieces, sweetheart table decorations, etc.  My centerpieces are a mix of high and low and include callia lillies, orchards, hydrangeas and include hanging candles and crystals. The price was more expensive than what I wanted to spend, but I absolutely loved the centerpiece mockups they did.

In terms of other vendors, I have only booked DJ and Photographer so far and did not go with any of their recommended vendors.  Since I live in Staten Island I went with Platinum for my DJ based on a few recommendations and Emerald for my photographer.

4500 seems more in line with the stuff you are having.

We used Stephanie at Floral Expressions and got...

    Flowers for Bride / Groom / wedding party / parents / readers,etc
Flower girl baskets + flowers and floral head pieces
    15 tall centerpieces
    flowers for restrooms
flowers / candles for cocktail hour
    flowers for entryway
    Candles for dessert room
3 large arrangements for the church
    Decorations for the church (bows,etc)
    Decorations for cake ,flowers,etc
An arrangement for our sweetheart table

I think it was just under 3K

I just got married there 2 weeks ago. It was amazing!

We used Spitz & Peck. It was under 6000 (but not by much). We had 4 different centerpieces (3 high and 1 low) and agree with what someone else said...the Chuppah was very expensive.

I used Milton Gil for photography. I really liked them but haven't seen my pictures yet. A bunch of my friends have used them and their pictures were all great.

For DJ I used Jason Craig....he was great and works there a lot.

I'm getting married at WMCC this November, so far for the DJ we went with Elite Sound Entertainment and the photographer is Rick Helman Photography. I'm in the process of booking flowers next, and it's between Atlas and Pedestal both of which I heard is expensive but WMCC requires you use one of those vendors..

    photography
    the studio

    band
    mirage

looking for makeup and hair person

    and invitation perdon

did anyone use jaynees party for invitations or have any suggestions.

hey we used jaynee for the candy truck, and if there is someone else i'd use them. i explored using her for invitations, but she was more expensive for the same invites than the woman we used.

we had a few problems that night with the candy truck and i tried to get in touch with her afterward and she left me a ridiculous voicemail, saying very bitchily, "i have no idea why you'd be calling me since i heard everything went well." and then she never got back to my mom who called her. lol.

our invites came out beautifully but i used a local woman who is based out of east brunswick who was very competitive on prices, pm me if you want more info.

thanks for that tip. i met with jaynee and she was really nice and somewhat reasonable. I just didnt like the fact she had like twenty books of invitations and she only showed me two books and two cusom made invitations that were too large and over the top, not my style. I was in and out of there in less than an hour. i am going with www.evenstarpaperie.com. its all online and by the phone communication but you get what you like and she really works with you on creativity and price.if anyone needs an invitation vendor, check them out.
  • I am a WMCC Bride to be.
I am making Candy Centerpieces for my centerpeices that will double as guest favors. I have to call Bobby tomorrow to make sure this is allowed. I am pretty sure he said that I could bring in centerpieces if they were non floral. I will of course be using the florist for the bouquets and everything else.

Has anyone else attempted to bring in non floral centerpieces and the westmount gave them a problem?

    Thanks!
