Educating your FI

Just wondering if any of you have been faced with the task of educating your FI about the ins and outs of a wedding.  Funny thing about my situation - this is his 2nd wedding.

He didn't understand why you give guests favors, he didn't know about e-pics, and mostly recently I informed him of the card/letter that we give each other on the big day via a member of the WP.  The last one I felt bad about because I'm telling him to write about how much he loves me basically, but oh well. 

But, bless his heart, he knows all this things makes me happy and he doesn't put up a stink.  Smile

    I am the same way! Not like I'm a big wedding buff or anything, I'm learning a lot myself. but he was really clueless. He didn't even know what a registry was. what a cutie

    Yeah, there have been a few things I've had to "educate" FI about, but since we've had a long engagement (going on 16 months!) we've gone to a few weddings since then and I make it a point to point out all the little details at each wedding.  So he has a pretty good idea of all the stuff to expect.

    I hear you.  This is my FI's second wedding as well, so I thought he would understand more, but that's not the case.  I think the hardest has been when I have to gently turn down some of his non-etiquette friendly suggestions :(
