seamstress/salon?

I bought my dress at Filene's Basement Running of the Brides sale last Jan. My mom wants to take me to a salon somewhere to have it altered and for me to try on veils and accessories with it.  Are there places like this? I don't know where to look and maybe it's because I'm assuming that most salons wont alter a dress I didn't purchase from them right?

My mom didnt get to go with me to pick out the dress so this is something special she wants to do together and im totally for it. Anyone know where we can do this?

    The lady that did my alterations has a ton of accessories and she actually sells them to local bridal salons, but you can get them before the stores mark them up. Her name is Mary. I bought my veil, flip flops, bracelet, and earrings from her. Her number is 734-513-6645.

    Thanks a bunches! random question, a seamstress should be able to add say some shoulder caps to my dress right?
