ummm....what?

So a girl I was friends with in 8th grade (because isn't that what Facebook is for?) is pregnant and posted this photo with the caption "Bill's idea of pregnancy photos"

Now, I get that it's a joke and maybe because of Halloween, but still.  Why would you do this?

    Hahahahaha that's really stupid.

ETA: It would be better if he wore clothes like Jason. The fact that he looks like a Chippendales dancer with a hockey mask on is throwing me off.

  • That is the worst pregnancy picture I've ever seen. EVER.  WTF is he wearing a Chippendale's bowtie with his mask?
  • I can't figure out the Chippendale part of his outfit... fucking weird.

  • It would be funny if it were a better picture but it is just wrong.

  • I hate all paid for, professionally photographed pregnancy pictures. You wanna take a quick shot with your own camera just to document progress and whatnot? Great. But I just dont' understand the appeal of paying someone to take pictures of your pregnant belly. It screams "ZOMG LOOK AT ME I'M THE ONLY WOMAN EVAR TO BE PREGNANT." I know Tide did them, and I'm sure that's not what she was thinking because that's not how she is, but I just hate the whole concept.

  • I think it's pretty funny also. I could see Charlie doing that.

Wouldn't it be nice to live together in the kind of world where we belong?
  • Yeah, it's the combo of the shirtless bow-tie thing and the mask that really makes it too weird for me.

    Exactly.

It's kind of funny. If you have a certain sense of humor. I wouldn't do it (it's pretty dumb), but I can CQTM over it.

  • And maybe if she was in a costume it wouldn't be so weird.

  • I think it's funny but he should put a full costume on.

Pregnancy is the most beautilful amazing thing that a man or a woman can do. Dwight was pregnant once, and Stanley acts like he's pregnant, so I know it must be hard. HA thats what she said.

  • LC I will admit that I'll probably get those photos done the first time I'm pregnant. But I see your point too.
  • Salt hit the nail on the head.

I mean, what kind of dance is that guy going to do?
    Crosswalk
  • Meh, to each his own. Just not my thing.

  • Maybe I just have the wrong type of sense of humor because I find nothing funny about it.  I also hate male strippers and anything to do with horror movies so that could be a contributing factor.

  • I think it's funny, except I think there's just a bit too much underwear showing for my tastes.  Photos like that are so personal, why not have a bit of fun with them?  What's the harm?

I also had maternity pictures done, and I'm so glad we did.  We're not all aw about them and we don't have them hanging in our living room or anything, but sometimes II like to look back and remember how it felt.  And the pro photog captured that feeling much better than we could have with our own pictures.  Also, I'm sure my daughter will like to see them one day too.  One of my faves is a close-up of my FI with his eyes closed "listening" to my belly.

I might do them.  Not sure.  Depends on how I feel about how I look once I'm really showing (I'm presently just unpleasantly bloated).  But, I don't get this vibe from them at all.

  • oh yay AK!  good luck! are you done with the interviews or are there more?  hopefully you won't feel too lonely this weekend with your H gone!

squirrly - i would recommend it.  photogs can do amazing things with photoshop.  I think mine recommended doing mine at 7 months, so that I wouldn't be TOO huge.  also, I got a deal by combining the expecting and newborn packages.  just food for thought.  :)

  • It might not be everyones style, but there's nothing wrong about it.

As for pregnancy photos, I think they're really nice if there a personal momentum for yourself. But if your just getting them to show off, then yeah that's a bit lame. I think I'll get them done. I'd love to have pictures to look at for years to come of when I was going through something incredibly beautiful.

  • The picture in question is a bit weird, but if that's their style I have no issue with it. I don't think pregnancy photos are all AW-ish, but I'm a scrapbooker, so I tend to blur the lines of when it stops being about record-keeping and becomes AW-ish.
