Minnesota-Minneapolis and St. Paul

Rustic Venue in South Metro/Southern Minnesota?

I am trying to find a rustic indoor reception venue south of Minneapolis and north of Mankato. I would love to find a log cabin/lodge. I have only found two in the area (MN Horse and Hunt and Caribou Gun Club). I am wondering if anyone has any other ideas for me.

We are looking at roughly 200 people.
I would love to have the ceremony outdoors at the reception venue.
We are looking at 10/1/11 for a date.

Thanks!

I am at Afton Alps which is in Hastings.  It is a ski chalet so its rustic, and they have outdoor ceremony options.  Its very reasonably priced, but not sure if it is far enough south.

I don't have any other suggestions, but I've heard nothing but good things about Horse and Hunt.

Slightly off-topic, but there's a campground that's superduperclose to there (Fish Lake Acres campground in Prior Lake) that I spend a bunch of time at during the summer. It could be an option for some guests to stay at. Mystic Lake, and some of the other hotels in Shakopee are a quick drive too, so it's a nice balance of "rustic" with having facilities close by.

Thanks guys. I did check out Afton, I just think it would be too far of a drive.

It's good to know that about Horse and Hunt, though. I am going to check it out tonight! Hopefully it will work within our budget. It looks beautiful on the website.

I'm pretty sure The Little Log House is exactly what you're looking for in exactly the right location. I got married there just 2 weeks ago. Here is a pic of the inside of the place:
Sorry, I only have a black and white photo right now.

The pictures on the website don't do it justice, but here it is: http://www.littleloghouseshow.com/index.php?page=village-hall

I will also be posting a whole buncha photos soon once we get ours on a disc! Let me know if you have any questions. I'm happy to answer them. They are great to work with, very reasonably priced, a beautiful and unique, awesome venue that make people go "wow, how have I never heard of this before??" and are really flexible. Seriously check it out.

Geez, if you could swing a St. Paul location (super easy to get to - good freeway access) check out Dakota Lodge!  We didn't end up picking it, but we absolutely LOVED it, it sounds like exactly what you're looking for . . .  :)
