Okay, you ladies helped me a few months ago, when I got my first weave, and your advice was very helpful, so here I am again :)  First, I couldn't get the hair I wanted (straight hair) in the correct color (I live in Albuquerque, NM so there aren't a lot of options and most hair has to be ordered) so I order hair with a deep wave.  Although, I'm not 100% sure what this will look like.  I tried to find it online, but was unable to find it.  Secondly, I'm getting a full weave this time and since I'm wearing my hair up for my wedding, I need a closure right?  Any help is appreciate, thanks so much!

    Only thing I can help you with is the closure... if you have a person who knows what they are doing, you do NOT need to buy one of those!!! When I got a quick weave, one time, I bought the closing and my cousin made one. And depening on how the hair is put in, you might not need one anyway.

    Are you leaving any of your hair out with the full weave? How much do you trust the person installing it?

    If you do not know the person's experience I would just order a closure. If you can't get one locally then let me know I can mail you one

    If you're wearing your hair up for the wedding, I really wouldn't recommend a closure. More than likely you'll leave some of your natural hair out. Do you have pics of your hair and the style you want? Are you natural or relaxed?
    A closure is usually done when none of the natural hair is left out.

    I didn't realize I had a choice with a full weave to leave hair out.  I'm assuming from the advice here that this is the preferred method.  How much hair should I leave out?  I have relaxed hair, but haven't had a relaxer done in a few months.  Come to think of it, the young lady doing it, said she would relax the edges so I guess she is planning on leaving some of my hair out. I'm assuming she's highly experienced, she said she does her own weave.  Again, because of where I live I don't have tone of options, so I'm just trusting that she'll do a good job.

    Does anyone have any photos of their hair up? I am also trying to figure out the best option. I want a half up half down style, and idk whether I need to leave some hair out or do a ful head. Would you say do a sew in or glue? TIA!

    Glue is flatter and a little more flexible but I wouldn't recommend it b/c it can really damage your hair.

    As for how much hair should be left it out -- it really depends on how high you want the ponytail for your updo.  If you want it to be low like on the nape of your neck you would be okay with just the perimeter out (your edges all the way around your head) and a horseshoe (the area at the top where your part is to cover the tracks).

    If you want it high like in the middle of your head then you should leave out a wider perimeter (maybe 3 fingers width worth instead of 1-2) and a bigger section at the bottom (like a fourth of your head) so you can brush it up and cover the tracks.  If you go with this method it really wouldn't be a full head sew in.  More like a half head.  The cons of this is that more of your hair is out and more susceptible to humidity, falling curls, or whatever other hair dangers there are out there lol  Plus, unless mots of your hair will be covered with the veil you'd have to make sure your hair blends with the weave.

    As for the half up half down -- I have a full sew in with the perimeter and horsehoe out and I wear my hair this way all time.  Just have to angle the top ponytail so that it lays across my tracks and keeps them covered.  Again, it really just depends on how high you want your ponytail.

    I personally prefer full sew-in mostly b/c I don't like my hair being fried, dyed, and laid to the side.  But the weave I can burn that all day lol
