Hi ladies,

FI and I are having a hard time coming up with a menu that represents both of our cultures. He is Guyanese raised in NY and I am southern raised in FL. The wedding will be in Orlando and I actually don't expect alot of his family to even be in attendence. For the menu we want a mix of things that will be different, not Sunday dinner food and not caribbean carry-out stuff either. We are at odds because I would like things like the mashed potato bar and FI can't imagine having an event without rice. Any suggestions???

you could have Caribbean appetizers (light on the spice if necessary)

I understand where your coming from. I was born in Antigua and raised here in Orlando and my FI was born and raised in FL. Our rehersal dinner is going to be Caribbean food and then depending on what the hotel can do we are maybe going to have the appitizers be caribbean too. Where in Orlando are you going to be getting married?
