A different kind of sand ceremony...

In case anyone's interested, I found this online and think it's a really great idea.  Instead of the typical sand ceremony that simply involves pouring sand into a vase or bottle, this company sells hourglasses that can be engraved with anything you want and there's an opening in the top where you can pour the sand during your ceremony.  It makes for more of a unique keepsake and decorative accent to your home than just a vase filled with sand and I just love the idea of pouring the separate colors into the hourglass and then watching them combing as they filter through the center.

We did a sand ceremony at our wedding. DH had white and I had blue. The keepsake vase it sooooo pretty. We got our kit at Michaels but bought individual glassware from their vases section rather than a 30-40$ kit.

We are doing a sand ceremony also at our wedding, but with a twist. I found this set online and loved that you could incorporate the unity candle piece with it. We're going to have the side candles lit like you would for the unity candle ceremony. We'll do the sand ceremony, and then close with the stopper and light the stopper. I love candles and I'll definitely use this even after the wedding which is always a bonus!!!
