Invite the President....

Anyone going to do this? FUN!

Even though the celebrity probably will not attend your wedding, they may send a letter of congratulations. This can make a great keepsake to frame and keep on display. Reading the response can also provide fun material for a Best Man or Parent's speech at the wedding reception.

Some interesting people to invite to your wedding are the President of the United States, the Queen of England or perhaps a local politician like the Governor of your state.

How to invite United States President to your wedding:

The Honorable Barack Obama and Mrs. Obama
The White House
Greetings Office Rm. 39
1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
Washington, DC 20500

Wedding invitations to the President can also be faxed to: (202) 395-1232

Invitation Tip: The White House greetings office handles as many wedding invitation requests as they can. Send your wedding invitation at least six weeks in advance. Be sure to include your old and new mailing address in case the RSVP comes later.

How to send a wedding invitation to the Queen of England:

The Secretary to Her Majesty
Queen Elizabeth II of England
Buckingham Palace
London, England

Invitation Tip: Never send a wedding invitation to the Queen directly (only to a secretary). Non-British citizens will not receive a response.

Visit the websites of your favorite Hollywood celebrities to get fan mailing addresses. Send a wedding invitation and see if you get a response!

  • I've always thought it was a cute idea, but I wouldn't really want a framed letter from our current president...  Too bad I missed out on Reagan ;)

  • I could care less about getting anything from the Pres. but sending something to the Pope had been mentioned a while ago. We'd actually like to get a Papal blessing but I don't know if we have enought time to get that.

  • You can also invite Mickey and Minnie Mouse at Disneyworld.

  • My fiance desperately wants to invite the University of Kentucky basketball team before they all enter the draft.

    Think it's worth a try?
