Pots and pans; either the ones you have, the ones you registered for or ones you have seen and liked. Tell me which ones you wouldn't get, and why.

FI and I are starting to think about our registry, and this is one of those items we really have no freakin' clue about. The pots and pans we are using now are the ones left over from his college apartment years.

Non-stick, stainless steel, Caphalon, Cuisinart, Pampered Chef, all of it makes my head spin.

Sigh, we registered for that exact set and got a bunch of pieces but not the full 12-piece set. I am jealous!! Think we're just going to go for it with a bunch of gift cards we got for the wedding.

We registered for the Calphalon Unison 10 piece set plus a few individual pots and pans of various sizes (grill pan, stock pot, dutch oven, etc). This is probably the registry item I want the most!

Right now I have a stainless steel set of Emrilware, which is ok. We bought them when we moved into our apartment last year and it's taken awhile for me to get the hang of using stainless steel AND a gas range (I'm used to non-stick and electric ranges).

To be fair, my mom bought both the set and the steamer pot crap for us for Christmas. She goes a little over board but "I just needed them for the new house" which I did, but she didn't have to spend all that $$$.

We still are registered for a square fry pan for pancakes/bacon and that stuff... but I don't miss it with my AWESOME pots and pans. Swooon, I love them.

Oh yeah, she also got us a HUGE fry pan that is massive, but I didn't register for it so I don't know what link to send you for that. I rec. these pans up and down though.

Delicate - DO IT, soooo worth it! We used gift cards I got for the bridal shower for our knive set because I just needed knives that cut through things. Best.decision.ever.

Thanks ladies. This set seems to be the consensus; I think we are going to ask our family and close friends which ones they have and like, but I have a feeling this is going to be the set that we put on registry.

I have All Clad pots and pans and love them! They are kind of expensive, I usually buy them at Homegoods or Mashalls where they are cheaper. They last a lifetime and are great quality, plus they are made in the USA.

We also have the Calphalon Contemporary and I LOOOVE them. If they were available last year, I would have gone with the Calphalon UNison and splurged a little more, though. Just as non-stick, but dishwasher safe. The ONE thing I dont like about most high-end nonstick cookware is that it can't go in the dishwasher.

Oh, good call, LRM. FI is big on sticking everything in the dishwasher, and I didn't even think about that! Definitely a question we will be asking when we go to actually register. Thanks for putting that down!!!

My FI purchased a 10-piece set from Kenmore at Sears. Very good quality at a great price!
