What are you paying for Mehendi??

Hi Brides

What are you all paying for Mehendi? I'm in the process of trying to find someone in the Atlanta area. I'm having a mehendi party of about 40 close friends & hoping to have an artist there to work on me & one for my friends. My mom was telling me she thinks it's around 1000$. I'm honestly shocked by that price though. Is this reasonable?

Thanks for your help!!

The cheapest I found around here was $150 for bridal henna, plus $25 for travel. That's not including work for the guests - that'll run another couple hundred. I figure it'll probably cost us about $700, all told, for that.

I got a quote in NJ for $10 per hand for my guest and between 250 - 300$ for the bridal mendhi.

It seems like a lot, but it's very time intensive...

The lady who is doing my mine is traveling about 2 hours, and I'm getting it done up to my elbows and knees.  That'll be $3 - 400 and $10/guest (two hands).

I am paying about $300 for mine, and $10/hand for guest I think I am paying for about 5-6 girls besides myself.

For all of the ladies, two of my aunts brought their own supplies.  For my mehendi, it was $125 (was highly recommended, the lady showed up late, had an attitude, and in the end, I had to get it redone (it didn't even come out) by a friend who I should have went with in the first place!

Lesson learned: test your henna, or get someone tried and tested, with pictures, or is known to be really good.

So except for the hassle, it was free.

I went to a mehendi party recently, and a mom/daughter team came and did probably 40 ladies, girls, and kiddos, and some of the guys (heehehehe) and the bride's, and she paid $300 total.

I was hoping to pay 300ish for the whole thing, but my mom price quoted it around w/a few ladies and I think it's going to be 200 for me and 7$ per HAND for family and friends, & I have about close 40 family and friends there that night..........sigh.......this seems like 1 thing I'll be more than I budgeted for.
