Who wore a crinoline?

I was thinking I might need to get a crinoline.... I guess I need to see my dress without, and with to decide right?

I tried my dress on with and without. I ended up getting one, just not a really full one.

I did. I hated it.

Not only did it make me look bigger than I was, it was hot, cumbersome, really itchy, and just in the way. We did pictures in the park, and as soon as I got in the limo to head to the reception, I unzipped the thing. I was literally taking it off, with DHs help, as I was climbing out of the limo. I carried it into my cocktail hour, and all the recently married people laughed, because they had all told me not to wear one.

The funny part? Not only was it cooler and lighter and freer under there, but I looked so much better without it. I seriously looked like I had lost weight in my midsection, bc my gown followed my curves instead of sticking out with the crinoline.

I did. I liked my dress better with it. I took it off for the reception though.

NCV- I think that mine has some crinoline but I wanted to have it look like the model.... I think this might be how it looks if there is a slight crinoline slip under it. PIB of how my dress looks on me. I just dont want to regret not looking into it.

My dress has a little bit built in, but the seamstress is going to add a little more only to the front to poof it out and make it lay better. There is a ton of embroidery at the bottom in the front and the way it is now it kind of gets lost in the folds, so we are trying this. I can't imagine that would be too much hotter, but I haven't tried it on with it yet. I have an appt next week to see how it looks, so I can update you after that.

LOL- butt panel. Duh, Jesster has this dress. Thanks, I will ask her! But I called my bridal shop to look at the sample with crinoline. The lady said it might make it lay better.

I didn't have one in my gown but I used to wear one all the time for ballet. They are itchy. If you like your dress better with one, I'd take it off for the reception like BP said. At least after your formal dances.

Thanks for the responses. My seamstress said people don't wear these a lot anymore. But I am going to go to the shop to try the sample on and try on crinolines to see what it looks like.
