So there are 12 incidents of fires with a dishwasher model and they're recalling.

Doesn't that seem crazy, that they're recalling after 12 incidents, given the other industries' lack of care?

Just a tiny little thought.

    It's Maytag, though, right? They've built an entire cultural touchstone on being so reliable their repairmen have nothing to do. Purely for PR reasons? I'd recall.

    But then, this is why I pay no attention to recalls. They're voluntary, decided company by company, and usually the incidents that result in a recall are statistically insignificant.
