Re: Extra Groomsmen

  • I don't think she realized the power of quotes.

  • I hate when Ops delete. Thanks for quoting her guys, at least I got the jist of the ridiculousness.

  • The quote button is magical.  It's the best thing to come out of the new format.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • Don't be worried about uneven numbers.  At least I'm not going to if something happens with my scenario...My fiance has a lot of close guys friends but he limited his groomsmen to just his closest buddies.  One of his groomsmen happens to be my younger brother who has a severe anxiety disorder.  Crowds and attention bring on his attacks so, for instance, he couldn't even sit through my college graduation.  He's going through a lot of treatment right now and wants to stand up there with us but my fiance and I know that there's always a chance he won't be ready.  And the thing is...we could care less.  We just want him to be there with us and be comfortable.  To add to this, one of his groomsmen may not get a break (or whatever they call it) from the navy for our wedding either.  Oh well!  Haha, so basically a couple of his groomsmen will have the honor of escorting 2 beautiful girls instead of 1.

My point is though that even though my fiance has plenty of other good friends to "promote" we're still holding out for the best and not jumping to conclusions even though we may have to deal with groomsmen short on the big day.  You've already made your switches so I say just have an extra groomsmen and just add the original guy back.  Problem solved and no one will notice!
  • I know the OP is long gone leaving a trail of quoted DD's in her wake ... but I'm really compelled to ask what her logic is in thinking asking the guy she asked to step in as an usher to step down would be rude, but asking the upgraded GM to step down is not?
