Wicked Bad AW

I PASSED SPANISH!!!!!

I can't even tell you how excited I am to pass! My whole career came down to that one final exam. And I can't even lie, I have been sweating it out since Monday wondering if I was going to pass. I was so nervous that I was going to walk across the stage Sunday and not have a diploma in the cover.

HAPPY DANCE! Cool

In other news:
I made the appt. to get my tattoo for this Friday at 4:30. I am both excited and nervous! Any tips on how to prepare for your first tattoo?

And please excuse me if I am super giddy/silly today, I have been waiting for this news for two days. I'm going to get through work then get toasty tonight at home!

This is great! Congrats. I would congratulate you in Spanish, but I didn't do well in the one semester I had to take and have since forgotten it all.

yay for passing Spanish! I took 2 full years in college, and I must say I never liked it. As far as the tattoo goes, I don't have any so no good advice to give. Just try to have fun with it, and maybe bring something to distract yourself?

oh - and maybe I missed an earlier post, but what did you decide on for the tattoo and where are you putting it?

ah...yes. I remember now! Didn't know you decided on the hip though. Very cool. I think that would be cute there. Good luck!!! (BF has 5 tattoos, so they must not be that bad if he keeps going back for more!)

Congratulations CDE! On both the Spanish, and booking the tattoo.

I have no words of wisdom about the tattoo - both BF and I have been wanting to get inked for the past couple of years and we just haven't got around to it yet. So maybe after YOU can give ME words of wisdom. Be sure to post pics after it's done (if it's in a place that you can do so without feeling weird on the interwebz).

Enhorabuena! Yes, I googled 'congratulations' in Spanish. :) We knew you could do it!

Yay for tattoos on your front hip... that's where mine is!

Two tips: 1) I got mine a little lower than my hip bone so that if/when I'm pregnant, it won't stretch as bad, and it also doesn't show when I wear a bathing suit.

    2) It might hurt a little, but it goes away. For me, the black outline hurt the worst but it only hurt while they were doing it. As soon as they'd stop, it stopped hurting.

Can't wait to see the finished product!!

    Thanks everyone on the congratulations!

I found a better picture of what I want. This one shows the colors I really want:

I'm thinking a black outline on the outside as well.

CU- do you have a picture of yours? I want to see the outline your talking about.

    Congrats on passing!!!

When I got my giant tattoo on my side, I remember it hurting a lot less if I just focused on breathing and didn't talk to the person tattooing me or my friend who came with me. Good luck! I can't wait to see it!

Yay for both! I have my tattoo on my leg, so I don't know how it is to get one on my hip, but when it was being tattooed close to my shin, where there was less muscle and more skin over bone, it hurt a bit more.

Good luck with the tattoo. No advice for you--I'm too scared to get a tattoo because I'd be stuck with it forever (or have to pay a ton to get it removed) and can't think of anything I'd ever be 100% sure I wouldn't get tired of.

    Yayyy! Congrats!!

I have a heart on the front of my right hip. Like Tiger said, the outline hurts the most, but it feels like a pinch and is over as soon as they finish. I really didn't find it to be that painful. If you can help it, try to lie in a position where your hip bone won't be sticking out while they tattoo near it, because right against the bone is when it hurts the most. You will be fine :) And don't forget A&D ointment - DO NOT put Neosporin on it!! (It doesn't help with scabbing at all, it is much messier, and it makes the ink leak!)

    Yay! Congrats on passing Spanish!

As for the tattoo...don't drink beforehand (it thins your blood and you will bleed more). I have my tattoo on the top of my foot which I've been told is one of the most painful places to get it, but I survived (it still hurt though). Here is a pic of my pain face (this was almost exactly 4 years ago...):

The black outline definitely hurts worse than the color, but by the looks of your tattoo, you won't have too much black anyways. Plus, they work surprisingly fast, mine only took 20 min and it actually felt shorter because I had kind of blocked everything else out, and after a few minutes, it all kinda started to just numb together. It's really not that bad and it's over before you know it. It's a little tender for a few days after while it heals, but as long as you don't touch it, you really don't feel a thing.

    Felicidades, CD!

For your tattoo, you could think about just getting the outline now, and adding color later. Although if it's just a small one, you can probably handle the whole thing at once.
