Save-the-dates: help us choose!

So now that we've got some great pictures from Sunbird, we're in a hurry to send out our STDs. I really want to get them out within about a month so they don't get lost among holiday cards.

I've been playing with a few designs and have come up with 3 that we really like. I'll probably play with the fonts and colors a little bit more once we decide which layout we like best; I just want help deciding which one I should put that effort into.

Or, if it's none of them, that's cool too. I have a million more possibilities.

(And don't worry, the last names and city aren't real).

1. I think this is my favorite photo, but I'm not sure about the black-and-white. Maybe I'll see if Sunbird still has the full-color copy.

2. I made the colors on the card coordinate with the colors of the photo, and I think it's pretty cute:

3. This is FI's favorite so far.

I just want to point out that I think it is weird that a Potter is marrying a Weasley. It should be more like a Lupin marrying a Potter (I think it was Potter right?). I think you need to change that. I think you should do a cool font!! I like cool fonts.

I like the photo in #1, but I think the text gets lost. I think #3 works best. I do think I would like it better without the last names behind the script first names.

What are you using to generate these?

Art is subjective! And I suppose we can't agree on <em>everything</em>. ;)

If you find something you like that's close, but not quite what you want, let me know, and I can probably customize it in Illustrator for you.

I actually liked #1 the least because the "date" kind of starts to cut into your otherwise adorable photo. That, and like pp mentioned, the text kind of gets lost.

Alas, I have no solutions!

I think #3 by far. I like #1, but the way the words appear seems too out of order and messy for my Type A preferences. I think #3 is perfect.

I really love #3, but it was hard for me. After reading what Shoes said about the font killing the OCD part of her, I think that's what's doing it for me too.

I actually really like the way the first names are in front of the last names in #3. And that photo is adorable.

I love number 1, but the date is getting to me too. What if you rotated the date vertically down the side below the save the date and moved your faces over just a hair to the right?

I liked #3 the best, until you added the one with the stripes. Now I like that one best, but without the stripes. I like the layout of the words better.

Also, it's probably just me, but I don't like the wording "for our wedding." It seems unnecessary. That's probably why I like the one with the stripes.

Although I do like the black and white photo and the font and date don't bother me in #1.

I really like #1 the best. I don't care for the fonts and layering on 3 at all and 2 is just kind of eh for me.

The problem I have with #1 is not the placement of the date, but the way it blends into the picture. What if you try a different, more bold font? Or maybe a different shade or color? I think the bold font would improve it a lot.

I think the date needs to go into the bar below the photo with the other info so it isn't cutting into the photo. I think it would look more organized if just "save the date" was in the upper left corner and all other info lived in that box.

I love the updated #1, but I agree that the date needs to be either in a different color or a different spot. Its such a great picture and looks awesome in B&W.

I really like #1, because the picture is the most warm/fuzzy/inviting/happy one of all the save the dates you have up there. It also looks like the most "natural" picture, though the others don't look "fake". With the updated one, how would it look to put a thin white border around the letters in the date?
