Photo shoot today

So for one of BFs Christmas/housewarming gifts I've planned a boudoir photo shoot.  I just finished getting my make up done and will be meeting my photographer in about an hour and a half. I'm excited and nervous. Oh, and slightly uncomfortable...I've never worn fake eyelashes before!

Has anyone else done anything like this? Or want to?

I've actually considered doing this. I feel like it would be a lot of fun, and it's definitely not a run-of-the-mill gift. My only problem was cost. When I looked at some of the prices they were a little more than I was willing to spend for that. I think if I had more money I would do it in a heart beat.

False lashes really aren't that bad to wear as long as they're properly applied. But if they're done well, they look incredible! After a couple minutes, I was barely even able to notice they were there.

I read about boudior photo shoots only recently. The idea is definitely interesting, to say the least. I am terribly camera shy and do not like getting photographed so I don't know if I'll ever do it. Props to you for having the guts, though!

Luckily, I've known my photographer for about 10 years so I'm hoping that will help me with the comfort level. We're also doing it outside on a hiking trail so I'm hoping no one is hiking today!!

As for the fake eyelashes, a friend of mine is a make up artist and she put them on perfectly, it's just so strange to me. One eye is fine now, but my left eye is still slightly annoyed by the intrusion!

For anyone who would like to do it but it seems pricey: shop around. Make deals with a photographer. Find an "up and coming" photographer. Mine is charging me $50 for an hour of shooting time. She gave me a discount but her regular shooting prices are very fair. One photographer I spoke to wanted $120 for an hour, so I definitely understand!

That part made me laugh. If there is, I hope your photographer gets some sweet reactions shots on the faces of you and the hiker haha.

I did a few weeks ago but it wasn't like super sexy.

I had on normal clothes in a few and then dressed up like snow white in some others. It was fun and you will relax quickly.

TK is the first place I've heard of boudior pics... and I thought about doing them.  But then someone mentioned pin-up pics.  That might be more my style.  I might try and "steal" his truck to pose on... so the pics have his two loves in it!  But part of me wants to do the b-pics when I make my goal weight as a reward to myself.

GOOD LUCK and let us know how it goes!

Bren- I'll make sure to tell her to keep an eye out for that!

Mana-I wish I could get his car. He always told me that she is his first love and I just have to live with it. Haha!  But, I did steal his Dodgers jersey and one of his hats. :D

Definitely let us know how it goes.

I'll probably do one for BF as a wedding gift someday.  I'm thinking I'll probably do it in a bikini rather than lingerie, but either way, I'll have to work up some nerve.

CFar - haha oh boys and their toys!  He just got the truck and i'm sure by the time I get the pics done it'd be rednecked out - smoke stacks and all.  Can't wait to see 5'1 me driving a 1 ton pick up with a turbo diesel engine.  NICE JOB with the jersey and hat!

CFar, I totally understand about both the eyelashes and the car!  =)

I hope the photos come out great. I don't really like to be photographed, so I don't think I'd do it, but I do love the classic '40s/'50s pinup style. If I ever did such a thing, it would be like that.

I would love to do something like this, but BF really doesn't like the idea.  He doesn't want that type of photos to exist in general, and I can't really argue with him on that logic.  But it sounds like a lot of fun!

From the ages of 18 to about 20 I used to do a bit of modeling. Some of the shoots I would do were either bikini or lingerie. When I first started it was awkward so you may feel a little uncomfortable at first but it will wear off. You will especially good once you see how good you look lol.

I just did this a few weeks ago!  I was a little nervous at first but the photographer made me feel very comfortable.  The fake eyelashes were a first for me but they looked great!  It took me a little while to get used to them.  If I thought I could put them on correctly on my own I would wear them for special events or something.  Good luck!  It's great to feel really beautiful for a few hours Smile

Well ladies, the shoot went great! I had a blast! My photographer was amazing [it helps that she's an old friend]. She made me very comfortable and had me laughing at all the right times. I did 4 outfits and the make up looked amazing on camera. She showed me a couple of shots just to show me how I was looking and I was so surprised!! I looked so much better than I felt. I just had to embrace it! It was very empowering.

Funniest parts: There were lots more people out there than when she went on a weekend. A group of 3 dogs decided to come and join us for a little while [as their owner was walking by]. A creepy old man would not stop staring, even with his wife [well, what I assumed as his wife] was right there.

But it was SO worth it! It felt amazing, especially by the end. I should have the photos by next week so if there's anyone who would be interested in seeing some you can PM me about it. :D

I'm pretty sure we're dating the same person. FI got his truck in September and wants to get smoke stacks on his truck now since he's lifted it and put giant wheels on it. Last night he mentioned buying a "I <3 my truck" bumper sticker.  At least yours hasn't had it lifted. I practically have to get a running start to jump in his truck and I've fallen out once.

Boudoir pics is such an awesome idea! I really would like to do it for FI as a wedding present but I need the motivation to lose some before I do it.

CFar - yea, BF said he'd teach me stick but the new truck ended up being automatic.  He still wants me to drive it once the transmission gets fixed.  I'm already driving his Ranger while my Jeep is in the shop (car accident and I can't stand cars, which was all the insurance will pay for).  So glad it went well.  Where did you have them done that people could watch?!

JMM - It got me so motivated when I was working out to work towards doing either pin-up or b-pics.  But then the car accident happened.  I hope after my knee heals it'll still be my motivation!  That and my friend's wedding I'm in in Oct...

ML* - Oh man, yea they could be the same guy!  Only BF's Truck is a 2001 dodge.  He's getting it inspected before he gets the stacks... it's already lifted.  It's REALLY funny to watch me get in and out being 5'1 with a bum knee.  I kinda have to slide, holding the seatbelt so I can land softly on the good knee.  AH haha I <3 my truck!  BF has the Calvin peeing on "Ex-Wife"... it's on the ranger too and we get stopped a LOT by people who LOVE it.  I'm driving the ranger now and I think people think I'm the exwife who got the truck!  I think a pic of me in the bed with the stack rolling coal would REALLY get him going!

I thought I said where I was getting them done! Haha how silly of me. They were off of a couple of hiking trails.  Although we tried to go back in and under trees [for cool scenery] there were still people walking by.  Most of them didn't seem phased by it....but there were others that weren't shy to stare!

Lots of boudoir pics are in a hotel setting. I changed behind a sheet, hiding in between trees, whatever I could find really.

My photographer set up a password protected online gallery so I could see a sample of the pics and I am blown away! Very surprised and proud with myself. It's not even half of the pics but it's a good range with a little of each outfit.
