Can I do a wine country wedding for $10,000?!

Hi everyone,

I just got engaged two weeks ago (yippee!).  Since I've begun looking for venues, catering, etc., I've been blown away by how EXPENSIVE it is to hold a wedding in Sonoma/Napa counties!  Yikes!  I live in Sonoma county and would like the venue to be relativiely close by.  I'm hoping to do an outdoor wedding at a site with lots of trees and foliage (want it to look lush) with 75-100 guests.  Within our family we have professional photographers and musicians, so that aspect is taken care of, thank goodness.  

So, can I get this thing done for $10,000 or less?  Experienced brides, help me out!

    A) Congratulations!
    B) It's possible, but it'll be tough.  Everything is so much more expensive up there!  I'd let go of the idea of any of the traditional venues, bacause they are only going to make you sad.  (Cornerstone has a $10,000 site fee!  Just for the site!  No food, no chairs, no tables, no linens!  Just the site!)  Try looking at some of the state parks.  (Olompali?  Armstrong Woods?)
    Also, I seem to recall that Griffith Woods wasn't too expensive, but I don't remember if I got a quote from them or not.

    My friend had her wedding at Fox Tail Wedgewood facility in rohnert park. It was pretty and the facility is inexpensive:

    Wedgewood all the way...also, I believe I saw a reasonable package from the Hilton in Santa Rosa if you can believe it...check their website it's all laid out.

    I agree that it's really pretty, but they are renogotiating their lease with the City, and it's not looking too good.

    Consider yourself lucky, I've only got $5,000 and am in Sonoma County as well. We are either going to do a weekday or at a public park. 

    Check out Redwood Hill Gardens in Sebastopol. Its a private home and their yard is beautiful. The lady, Rosie, was wonderful. We just checked it out last week, and I love it but I think it would be too difficult money-wise for us.

    Also to the response on Griffith Woods, I called them a few days ago and its $2,000 flat (no tables or anything). Good luck!

    If you're open to wineries outside of Napa/Sonoma, try wineries in Clarksburg (10 mins below Sacramento) or Amador County.  We just toured Scribner Bend right off the river and right below Sac.  It's a great place to have weddings and it's not to pricey.  They have preferred vendors, but you can also bring in your own. There's also the Old Sugar Mill and Caravalho Winery that's right across the river.  Amador County has great wineries, but I'm not sure about their pricing.

    If you are open to Lodi Wine Country.  We have some amazing venues here that range in price.

    Oak Farm Vineyards, Bare Ranch, Grace Vineyards(Galt, CA).  Just to name a few

    have you looked at here comes the bride? they have dozens in wine country, i'd say I looked through at least 50 or so, and most site fees are 2000-5000, so I totally think you could pull it off.
