Just starting the planning process... any advice?!

Hello! We are getting married Oct 8th. and I am just starting with the planning process. My family has been vacationing on Hatteras Island for 20+ years and I am so excited to be having my wedding on the beach! We live in NC but we are 8 hours from Hatteras... if anyone has suggestions about caterers, florists, photographers, etc any help would be appreciated!

As in, Oct 8, 4 months from yesterday?

ETA: I ask because 4 months or 16 months will yield very different answers.

Book your vendors NOW!! Do not be surprised if most of them (especially the really talented and good ones) are taken by now -- vendors book up to a year, maybe more, in advance down in the Outer Banks.
