Tipping Question

Hi girls...I used to post more frequently but I have been really busy.  Our wedding is on Friday and I wanted to know who to tip besides the maiter de and about how much.

DJ/MC/Lighting guy?
Photographer and Assistant? Owns her own company
Videographer? Owes their own company
Limo?
Bridal Attendant?
Bartenders at the Venue?

Re: Tipping Question

  • So we gave the DJ a total of 150, and let them decide how to split it between them. We only had 2 guys.  I told him it was for them both so it was clear.
I gave the assistant $100, the photog nothing bc he owned the business
Video nothing if they own their own business
Limo ususally its worked into the cost.
    Bridal attendant 50
Bartenders, nothing bc we already paid a service charge.

    We gave:
*The MD - 3-5% of the food cost.  It sounds like a lot, but that gets split amongst the entire wait staff, chefs, etc.

    *Bridal Attendant - $100

    *DJ - $250

*Photographer/Video - no tip necessary (not sure why - this was what our planner told us)

    *Cocktail hour musicians - $25pp
    *We didn't have limos.

We put all of this in envelopes before the wedding and kept them in the safe during the event, and brought extra cash in case we wanted to give more.  Made it much easier at the end of the night.  ENJOY THIS WEEKEND!!

  • When our venue cost says "Includes Tax and Gratuity in the Per Person Pricing" does that mean the MD tip?
