Michigan Honeymoon

My FI and I are going on a low key (low expense) honeymoon here in MI. My FIL's generously offered to let us use their camper and reserved us a week at Ludington State Park. We were thinking about doing day trips (and even staying in hotels if need be). We were thinking of going to Traverse City, Mackinaw Island, Taquahmenon Falls, and Pictured Rocks. Any other suggestions of places we should check out nearby?

I've been up to Copper Harbor and thought that area was incredibly gorgeous.

You can hit Whitefish Point on the way to/from Tahquamenon. It's a cute little town, not much there but worth a stop.

Whitefish point is worth a stop for the Shipwreck Museum.

I would also hit the Petoskey/Harbor Springs area- full of shopping, food, and beautiful spaces.

If you like outdoorsy/woodsy vacations... Luce County and surrounding areas in the U.P. is incredible. We have property up there. Tahquamenon Falls, Rainbow Lodge, Pictured Rocks. Oswald's Bear Camp is always fun too.

One of the top ten drives in the country is on M-31 between Traverse city and Petoskey. Make sure you do that! Especially if you are going in the fall
