With no BC in 2 weeks, I am very hopeful that the monthly YI I've been having the last year or so will go away too. They hit the same time monthly and i can only assume it is part of my hormonal cycling. Not fun.

    I need you to come fix my IUD. I have wacky bleeding and even though I am now also on oral ocp, I'm still having breakthrough bleeding. I've had labs, an ultrasound, and two pelvica. There is no reason they can find for this. So CNM JoJo, does this mean I just need to yank my Mirena?

    What oral BCP's are you on? If they are a lower dosage, I'd go up on those before yanking. the Mirena is great because it is low dose and works very locally, but there are always going to be some women that the dose is too low for to maintain no or just regular periods.

    Aviane. I started them specifically because with the IUD alone, I was getting spotting or full on periods every week and I was anemic. Now I just spot every two weeks with the Aviane. Seriously, I am considering begging for a hysterectomy. Even though that's a horrible idea.

    I will chime in here:

    I get a very minimal amount of breakthrough bleeding about a week before my expected (and minimal menses) but only if bearing down IFYKWIM.  It took about 18 mos before my actual period decreased enough for me for it to be noticeable.

    There are options if you guys are for sure not having anymore kids. Essure is more effective than a BTL. No hormones after the three months to take effect. Then you have an ablation and pretty much no periods the rest of your live long days. My BFF is threatening to do this is she doesn't get pregnant again.

    I'm not sure what our situation there is. I'm just done with the random periods. And in a very whiny mood today.

    Word on the randomness. Implanon did that to me the first 8 or 9 nine months. then things settled. Now I get YI. I am over BC right now.
