We sent off our AHR invitations last wed and by Friday I'd already recieved 1 electronic rsvp and 2 or 3 phone calls or emails to comment on how nice the invitations were. I haven't recieved any RSVP by mail yet but I'm sure I'll jump outta my skin when I do : ).

Last Satuday I was also whisked away for my mystery stagette weekend. 4 girls showed up at my house with a very lovely outfit to sport as we stopped through multiple towns on the island. Luckily I have a sense of humor and can go with it LOL. We ended up in the cutest little cabin in Ucluelet with our own private hot tub looking out over the ocean, we took a day trip to hang out on Long Beach in Tofino and just had the best girl bonding weekend - It was exactly what I needed!!

Aww yay, looks super fun. My FI and I have always talked about going to Tofino! Whenever we've gone up to victoria we've seen people with the Tofino bumper stickers. You got lucky with the weather, it looked sunny! Glad you had a good time, is a stagette like bachelorette party then? I'm considering whistler for our joint party, but we'll probably end up in seattle.

Thanks Ladies!!

Sparklegirl: Yup - same thing really. I love Whistler (although was a little bummed at how commercial they went after the olympics, but hopefully it will go back to the way it was in time). Tofino is beautiful, actually feels like you are somewhere tropical in the summer. It actually snowed all through the week before leaving and as we were driving up there were some points where the plowed snow was higher than the car but for the most part it rained alot - Sunday (the day we took the pictures) was so nice, it actually felt like summer at some points, wouldn't take off the jacket or go in the water but it looked nice in the pics LOL. Definitely worth a trip there some time.
PS - I live in Victoria!!

Nice! Yeah ive been to whistler like 5 times and only once was since the olympics, i didnt notice much difference but it was probably cuz i was on cloud 9 the whole time! That's where my FI proposed! Victoria would be so neat to live in, we've been maybe 4 times, we just hop on the boat from pt angeles-its about an hour or so from us. I love canada!

I told FI once when we were there that if he was ever going to propose I wanted him to do it there - I love whistler - it's gorgeous and I love the little village feeling when you're there, almost like nothing else exists outside of it. Perfect proposal.... how'd he do it?? Did you know it was coming?? Let me live through you on my whistler proposal dream LOL (ps not that mine wasn't pretty cool too!!).
Victoria is nice - at times it can feel boring and small but for the most part that's what I love about it. Big cities scare me : ).
We like Seattle for the shopping lol.

They scare me too! I hate driving in seattle! I don't go there much, we are across the water from seattle. The proposal was perfect! I had always hoped he'd do it when we were vacationing somewhere. We went up there in Nov for the 3 day thanksgiving holiday and my birthday (some years it's on t-giving day), he said he wanted to do it outside in the village, but it was night time and snowing and he worried i'd drop it and lose it in the snow! (It was 3 sizes too big too) He proposed by the fireplace in our hotel room, he sat me in a chair by the window soon after we checked in and I kinda had a feeling it was coming because he sucks at secrets and had asked a few days earlier why I haven't showed him recently what kind of rings I liked, so I blasted his email with options and sent him this "hint email" from zales which asked how you wanted to be proposed to, i'm thinkin he definitely took note lol. Anyway, the box he sat on my lap was huge, so I thought it was a necklace and my heart sorta sunk, then he got down on his knee and I knew it! I cried like a babbling little baby and was actually really glad he didn't do it in public cuz my makeup was runnin and I think i would've been embarrassed. We celebrated later with the best sushi dinner and went drinking at an irish pub, I loved the fact that our phones charged us for roaming, so we didn't tell anyone til we got back, we got to have it as our little secret for those few days!
