Reception music...

FI and I need to find our bridal party entrance song and our cake cutting song.  I'd love to hear what you ladies are doing for reception music, since I am stumped (I think my brain is done with planning), and my FI does not listen to music one would play at a wedding (I don't think Megadeth is good dancing music).

    We used Michael Jackson's "The Way You Make Me Feel" for the entrance song and The Beatles "When I'm 64" for our cake cutting song.

    We used "Every Little Thing She Does" for our entrance, "I got a Feeling" for BP entrance, "Grow Old With You" (Adam Sandler) for the cake cutting, "Bless the Broken Road" for our "Anniversary Dance"...

    We're using "Got To Get You Into My Life" by The Beatles.

    We're still debating (yeah... debating...) about the cake cutting song.  I wanted something like "Sugarpie, Honeybunch" or "Sugar, Sugar" but Gzilla says it's too corny.  But he also doesn't like the opposite side of the spectrum either, which is "Hit Me With Your Best Shot."  I just can't win.

    Paprika: I like it when you burp in my ear. It really turns me on.

    Us - I Got a Feeling
    Cake - we snuck off and cut it with our photog and videog, only one of my 5000 guest actually noticed we were cutting the cake and caught a picture. We didn't want to stop the party to cut the cake.

    Ev-let me talk to my DJ.  She said that she was going to send me a list of songs that people use for cake cutting... so that we could pick from that. It's the ONLY song we don't have picked right now!

    Our BP is entering to the Chicago Bulls Theme Song and we're entering to Get Ready For This (Space Jam Song) by Unlimited 2.  Our cake cutting song right now is Sugar, Sugar, but we think it's kinda corny.  So we're still looking.

    Could you use a song by Cake for the cake cutting? I remember someone on the board did, and I thought that was clever!

    Dah!  I mentioned to my mom that we were trying to decide on a cake cutting song.  My dad just emailed me with "How can you not play 'The bride cuts the cake' song!!!"  Seriously?  Ugh.

    Ev--I'm convinced that dads have a dumb when it comes to wedding music.

    I asked my dad to help me pick out the song that I want to dance with him to.  And I told him that I didn't want something sappy... I wanted something more fun, to jive with the rest of the music we've picked out.  He suggested Butterfly Kisses, I Loved Her First, and My Little Girl.  Um.  That's the opposite, Dad.  Also... you hate country music.

    I heard back from Jenny (my DJ) and she suggested stuff that other people have already said they used: Sugar, Sugar by The Archies, How Sweet It Is by James Tayor, and Ice Cream by Sarah McLachlan.

    I coudn't even tell you what song was playing during the cake cutting.  It was the last thing on my mind, and I really don't think your guests will notice either.
