Good morning!

Re: Good morning!

  • Neither do we Rach.  Unless I know I'm doing breakfast for dinner like I did last night, there are rarely eggs in our house.
  • Mari, maybe do a few smaller tables instead of one table?  Let me see if I can find a picture.
  • Mari, maybe something like this:

Obviously, not those, but you get the idea.
If it makes you feel better, winter was kind "meh" everywhere.  I will miss the four seasons though.  DH says it never snows enough in Tennessee to warrant using a shovel.  They just use a broom.  Weirdos!
    Posted by MattsPenguin
The first winter I spent in Winston Salem - 60 miles north of my hometown - we got snow three or four times and it snowed like a foot on Christmas weekend. I've never seen that much snow in my life. We certainly needed snow shovels.

This past winter we had nothing. Like two days of cold weather and I was in southern california for those and one little snow while I was out of town again!

  • That sounds cute, and extra storage would be awesome!

Here's what the living room looks like

You can tell we still need to decorate also! I am still not sure about the blue, I didn't know it would be that dark

  • morning all!  I'm off of work until tuesday, so that makes me happy.  my printer is not working, it's smearing all the ink, so I have to go to the post office to send out some stuff.  boo.  my house desperately needs a ood cleaning, so that's my goal between today and tomorrow.  clean.  i need to list a bunch of stuff on ebay - we just have too much stuff.

  • Those are nice, but yeah I would need something darker maybe to match the end tables and recliner? Or should we do away with the end tables?
    image
  • Ranch I really like that, I wonder if it comes in a lighter color. I need to brighen the room up because of the walls now I think.

Would something like that be too big? It would give you more storage.
Here's a white one: CLICK Have you ever thought of painting the trim white? That might help with the darkness of the blue. FWIW, I like the color.
    Posted by rachers1017
Yeah that's actually on the To-Do list at some point. Hopefully we can get around to it soon. Ohh I like that!

ETA: Thanks i'm glad someone likes it, I have days that I do and days i'm just not sure about.

  • I like the blue, too. But, it does seem a but much for the size of the room with the dark furniture.

    However, I'm a terrible decorator. That's hubby's department!

  • Morning everyone.

today is the first day of my 2 month summer vacation!  Woohoo!!

This heat stinks though.  I wanted to go to the zoo today, but being outside in this heat reeks havoc on my asthma and could you imagine how bad a zoo would smell with this kind of heat?

Hmm i'm not sure if I would or not, I need to measure the one that we have now and see. It's a great idea though if it works!

  • I like the blue, but you definitely need to lighten the room up.  I think some floor to ceiling light colored or white curtains would help.  Where's Habs?  This is her area of expertise.

Rach, did the designer do anything crazy yesterday?  Any new fuzzy barware?

I hate the wheels on this.  It looks like it belongs in a garage.

  • I like the blue.  I'd paint the trim white and put up breezy white curtains and that'll brighten it up.

  • Paint always dries darker than what you think, but I think the color looks great. My BFF has ottomans like that and they're awesome. The tops flip over to have a hard surface when you need it.

I have officially changed my name and I was only gone for 40 minutes. I think that must be a record.
  • I would also paint your mantel white.....and add some white crown molding!

I think it's very important to be able to roll your coffee table to the location where you want your coffee. Isn't that what the wheels are for? LOL

They could probably be left off when it's assembled, I don't much like them either.

What I really hate are the giant ball and claw feet on my coffee table. They're just the right size to stub your toes on. I'll be so happy when my mom has room for that thing and I can take it to her!

  • Yes some white curtains and painting the trim white will help. H won't paint the mantle unfortunately, he has this thing about painting wood...weird.

    Ooo I love vases!

ETA: Yeah that's him, he is going to paint the trim for me at least though, that was our compromise.

  • Would he be against painting the stone?  I don't know if you can do that with a fireplace you actually use, I guess I've only really seen it on "fake" fireplaces.

10 minutes here.  Of course I also went to the SSO in EBF.
  • I was just in the alternate E universe, and now I'm back here.  TK is pissing me off.

  • Wow midge, that seems really quick.  I hope when I go to do it, it takes such a little amount of time.
