Did I say she did? We've just had a lot of grumpy people here (admittedly so!) lately, especially in the GM threads.  EWhit started a happy thread and Nebb called her corny.  I thought it was douchey timing.

Also, the "weird" comment belongs in the other thread ;)
  • I know we've reverted to pets now, but I've been a real crabass at home lately and instead of being mean back, my FI went and bought me a V Day gift early and gave it to me on Saturday night. And it's gorgeous, and SO unlike him. And it really made me really really happy, and not because he was giving me presents, but because he really thought that I deserved some good news in my life.

And now I can't get mad at him for like, 2 weeks at least.

ha. To be fair, that was for two dogs. and it included a FULL round of shots (from the beginning) for Levi, plus his neuter ($500ish).  That includes the fees for boarding them and their food and meds and everything.

It was implied though. All that was missing was "like you".

  • Blah, my dog is allergic to wheat, and currently his food is like $60 a month, plus we go through toys and crap, PLUS he gets laryngitis and ear infections and weird moles, so he's very expensive.

Steph- He got me a very delicate anniversary band for my right hand. I literally never ever wear jewelry and it's so perfectly small and pretty. and nice, since I was going to get him a $15 t-shirt.

You mean Nebb's original post in this thread? I agree.

Like I said before though, it's stupid to have this conversation in a thread that's supposed to be about what makes you happy.

So, Blue? Nebb? Care to contribute things that make you happy?

Lol that's the opposite direction we're trying to go right now.  It sucks because we have some friends that want to give us a purebread choc lab puppy for a wedidng present (their dog is about to have puppies), but we just can't afford it.  I want one so bad!

Yeah. Or if we just want a weekend without them. ;) (when we were doing stuff around the house, it was easier to ditch them for a few days, instead of worrying if they were going to run away every time we opened the garage. ha)

When we board them it's $65/night. Which actually isn't bad for two huge dogs, considering that includes 'day care' for like 12 hours/day. So they get to run around with 20 other huge dogs inside and out. Then we pick them up and they sleep for a few days. It's fantastic.
  • Oh I wont even tell you how much we spent every month on Cleo. Between her arthritis meds and laser therapy. She was expensive.

And we have a petsitter, she's expensive but well worth the money. We use her now, because the cat gets SO lonely. He has been pitiful since Cleo died.

  • It's not something that can be reliably used to break me out of a funk, but I absolutely LOVE when an older song comes on the radio in the car and you realize that even though you haven't heard it in ages, you know the whole thing off by heart. Bonus points if you shout "NO WAY!!!!" and turn it up really loud and sing at the top of your lungs.
  • Dot- do you have a Costco membership? They have the flea/tick meds there for really good prices!  I'm not sure how big your dog is, but they sell them for the same price regardless of size.  Since we have to get the biggest dose, it saves us a ton!

I want to say 6 months of meds were like $38?
  • Cut the crap steph, you know full well what you were implying with your comment to me. Playing it off like that isn't what you meant is complete and utter bs.
  • Whisky has cost me a fortune this year. His meds are over $100 every month and his vet specialist visits every 3 months run close to $200, if not more. And that's not counting his yearly physical and other random stuff.

I'd love to get another kitten or puppy, but no way is that in the budget. Someday. H and I really want a dog, but the logistics of it hold us back. Especially boarding. That shiit is expensive.

Thank god for my mom's house.  We'd never be able to go anywhere if she didn't let us bring the dogs over there to play.  They love it, because they get 5 acres to run around.
