Are you a religious person? attend church?I believe in God but I don't believe in organized religion. I don't fault people if they believe differently than me. I don't go to church because, in my experience, most people go just to show off and like to be "holier than thou." Hypocrites annoy me.

Is your ceremony religious?Yes, we are using Fi's childhood pastor. He really wanted to have him perform the ceremony. On a funny note... Fi doesn't believe in God at all and I have issues with going to church. The pastor doesn't have to know this though; he's pretty laid back anyways.

Is your/was your wedding ceremony religious? No. H is agnostic so he did not really feel comfortable with our ceremony being religious. That was fine with me. His uncle got ordained online a few years ago for H's sister's wedding so he performed our ceremony. H and I put the ceremony together ourselves.

I really wanted to have our ceremony in a church because I like the formal setting. Luckily, we were able to use the church that my mom attends (Universalist Unitarian) so we were able to have the church setting but we could select our own officiant.

It will take place in a cathedral (catholic) but there will not be a mass. There isn't really anywhere else to perform the ceremony where I"m from (a small town) except the same hall as the reception and I don't really like that idea. Also it would upset my FI family if we didn't have it in a church (my FFIL told me that if we don't get married in a church we're going to hell) I was very much against the idea before thinking I didn't want to start my marriage on a lie but since we're not having a mass I feel better since it will only be blessed.
