Dress is in!!!

Yayyyyyy!  When I came home today I had a message from Irma's telling me my wedding gown is in!  It feels so real now knowing that MY dress is waiting for me! : )

Very exciting!  Wait until you go and try it on...then it *really* hits you!

Over Christmas, I got to hold a mock of my bouquet, our bands came in, and so did my dress.  Talk about it hitting you all at once!

Congratulations!  When do you go for your fitting?  Exciting news!

    Very exciting!

Just remember you have to pay the balance (if you still owe) in cash when you get your dress.  I don't know if you are having any alterations done there, but if you are, those too are paid in cash and have to be paid right then or they won't touch your dress until they get payment.  My mom and I didn't have enough cash on us (poor planning on our part, expensive alterations costs on their part) for the dress balance and  the alterations so I had to bring back the rest of the cash another time which totally messed up scheduling my second fitting.  So just some advice if you are getting alterations done there too-bring at least $300 in cash for alterations just to be safe.

PharmJen, you really did have a great break!!  : )

njgal, thanks for the head's up.  I am planning on getting my alterations done at Fashion Stitch.  So I guess I just have to pay them the balance, and then I bring it home and just store it til it gets closer??  It seems like a weird question to ask, but I guess most people get it altered at the shop so it just stays at the shop...  hmmmm.

@Imparlett - Yes, you'll pay off the balance for the dress and then bring it home with you.  My friend just picked her dress up from Irma's last night and it's at her mom's.  When are you picking it up?

njgal made a good point - I didn't know about the alterations cost being due when my dress came in either.  Definitely a good heads up for everyone!
