if she thinks I'm going to pay her $96 dollars a plate!! For that price, we could've had our wedding at the Turnberry like we originally wanted to. So, one of my fiance's closest friends has a father that works as a chef. He says to us "call my secretary and tell her your ideas and I'll work something out for you." Naturally, I hear this and I get the impression that we are going to get the family friend discount. Humph! Not likely. The theme of our wedding is "Southern Sophistication", so the menu I gave them wasn't very elaborate. Basic southern staples with an upscale twist. The most expensive thing would probably be the shrimp and grits. I mean, am I asking too much???
To make matters worse, she comes up with these bogus assed price comparisons from "competitors". The cheapest one that she was able to "find" was $135 a plate! What? Now I know you're high! Especially when I've already been looking at other caterers and have found great menus for as little as $30 a plate. So much for "looking out".
