Hey y'all. You stink. Making me eat sushi and stuff. I'm a proponent of spanking. I would spank my kids if I had any, and I think more people should spank their kids. /UO Not to fear, anti-spankers, there are no children available for me to spank. This is all just hypothetical.
In Response to Re: Talk to me people...Night Thread : This is my opinion, but if you haven't figured out how to raise your first kid without spanking them, you probably shouldn't have more.  Or, if you haven't figured out how to properly supervise them, even.  (Again, I know you can't watch them every second.  I know that shiiit happens.  But if it's enough of a problem that the ONLY way to solve it is spanking?  You probably did something wrong somewhere along the lines, or your child has special needs, and you need a new approach and some help.)

Also, whenever people are good dancers AND they dance to Otis Redding....my heart goes crazy. Otis Redding goes straight to the ladyshow.

  • Ski, I hadn't had it until my friend's Christmas party 2 years ago. They had a sushi station from the best place in the area. I always thought it looked and sounded gross, but I figured it was free, so I might as well try it. Then it was all over.
In Response to Re: Talk to me people...Night Thread : BBM  Responding to your earlier post, no, I would not. I would instead implement logical consequences. And come on, that's a poor excuse. I have taken 30 students on walks in the city by myself. I teach in an inner-city, high poverty charter school so no aide for me. None of them have gotten hit by a car, injured, or even stepped into the street without my permission.  I go over expectations before we even get outside. I model the expectation. I then have several children model the expectation. Then we all practice until every child is completely clear and knows exactly what to do. I go over the logical consequence. Then, right before we step outside, I review my expectations AGAIN. If they misbehave I will turn right around and take them all back into the school building. They know I mean it because I've done it before and I always follow through.  My classroom isn't perfect or anything; I don't mean to imply that.  But if I can get my 30 children can walk on a street nicely and safely without hitting them, it's silly to pretend that someone can't effectively monitor their own children without resorting to hitting them.  So, that being said- you're worried about your own child on a field trip. You don't want them to run into the street or get hurt. Do you give permission for the teacher to hit your child if they deem necessary, seesaw?
    Posted by starrynight84
See, I think that by the time a child enters school age, spanking isn't an option. I only advocate spanking for small children, when all other options have been exhausted.

So no, I wouldn't want a teacher to hit my child, because at that point, I wouldn't be spanking them either.

  • Also, eags, I ran out of here before I could say thanks for your input about that old ring re-sizing. I'm expecting my great grandma's ring soon (grandpa just has to remember to give it to me... I wore it for my wedding too) and it was a little too big. So I wanted to make sure it wouldn't be super annoying to resize it.

  • Angel, I know I will eventually try it.  Just knot today.

Victoria Secret Semi Annual Sale, might have shopped it tonight when FI called me to tell me he was at the shop and the crew was headed to the PA/NY border to help with an electrical issue and wouldn't be home until sometime tomorrow night at the earliest.

OK, just watched the krumper. I guess I just don't understand krumping. I don't really see much dance skill in it. It's just, how badass can I look while moving around? Not so much dancing, just posturing. NMS.
  • Mica, no need to feel bad for the girl on the sushi, I had something I enjoyed for dinner.  A Cold Stone Creamy Very Bery Strawberry shake.  Very good dinner indeed.

I've never had sushi either. The idea of it just does not  appeal to me at all. I don't really like Asian food much at all.

ETA: And it isn't the raw fish thing, I'll eat raw stuff. It's the other stuff that goes into it. And the threat of hidden mayonnaise.
